Yes I had the 650 AVS2 on it but have made some upgrades to the 440, I now have a set of aluminum heads and a competition components .600 lift intake and .584 exhaust hydraulic roller cam [email protected] of 235 intake 250 exhaust. The 650 ran very well with the stock heads and the flat tappet cam I had...
Thanks, a change in the step-up spring or an adjustment to the Secondary Air Valve most likely would have eliminated that flat spot. Too late now though lol
Looking to upgrade my carb on my Mild built 440, just wonder if anyone has purchased this carb and what type of performance improvements did it give you.
I agree with you on the 1906, I'm running one with a few changes on a mild built 440 and it's an incredible street carb and it's so easy to tune it's not funny
I can run anything I really want as I'm running a hydraulic roller cam and don't have to worry about how much zinc is in the oil. I do run a good grade 5W30. Mobil 1 has come out with a 0W40 grade for super cars from what I heard
Get rid of the orange box they tend to fail all the time. Buy yourself a FBO box and eliminate the ballast resister. The FBO box also has a built in rev limiter. I put one in my 68 Coronet R/T and have never looked back. Great setup you will be very happy you did.
If your car is strictly a street car get rid of the headers, for a street car the gains are minimal and are not worth the headaches of leaks. Find yourself aa good set of HP manifolds and you will be much happier
Here is an example on how to figure out what size CFM carb you need. Take a 440 for example,440 CI X 5800 RPM X .085% (VE) divided by 3456 equals a 627 CFM carb so you would round it up to a 650. What some guys don't understand is an engine will only take so much air shoved into it, an engine is...
Get yourself the Edelbrock 650 AVS2 I have one on my mild built 440 and I talked two of my buddies into buying them and one is a 69 RR 383 and the other is a 71 Cuda 440 and they as myself love them. So easy to tune and the light to light acceleration in incredible.
Just purchased a Hurst Competiton Plus Shifter mechanism to replace my old factory one, my question is has anyone bought one and will your factory linkage shafts work with the new shifter mechanism. Going into a 68 Coronet RT
I have a mild build 440 .03 over 440 source aluminum heads, hydraulic roller .600 lift intake .584 exhaust [email protected] 235/250 Edelbrock performer RPM intake stock exhaust manifolds 4 speed w/3:54 dana and I'm running a Edelbrock 650 AVS-2 and this car flat out runs. The only thing I changed on the...
After doing tons of research I decided to buy the Driven GL4 conventional oil as it's a great tranny oil ( great video on this oil on you tube ) and easier to purchase than the Sta-lube 24239. Brewers performance does not recommend synthetic oil of any kind for the A833 and do not recommend any...
