When I had my roller cam I used one of the nylon type cam buttons that somehow worked it's self out and allowed the cam to walk forward and the head of the gear bolts to eat into my cover.

They didn't like the dust cover on it at first, had to dimple a couple of spots in where the beads were rolled. It gives me the willys looking at it though!!! Thanks!

Just out of curiosity what is the minimum clearance from the head of the bolt to the block? I'm using ARP 5/16 TC bolts and have about .070-.080" & it scares the crap out of me!

Ya, Im just grasping at straws on this. Everything I think would be a logical explanation had already been verified as working correctly. Trying to figure out what changed.

So I had a new Dr Diff power-lok & new Motive Gear set installed a while back. Putbabout 10-15 mi on it but would howl/clunk unloaded otherwise it was fine. Backlash IIRC was .022" +/-. Sent it back and that was corrected but now I had a vibration that was pretty severe & wasnt there before, so...
