That confirms what I thought. I just went and measured without taking the wheels off. I'm getting 53" to outside of the brake drum face. That probably puts the axle flange to axle flange closer to 52.5" to 52.75" which is only around 2" shorter than stock.
Planning my '65 Plymouth Belvedere I rebuild. It already has an AMD mini tub and a narrowed Dana 60 when I bought it. I understand that wheel width and backpacking preferences must align with the axle flange to flange distance. However, is there a common axle width that many use with a...
Working in a plan for my '65 Belevedere 2 door post car. I've been going to a lot of car shows looking at paint jobs. Usually the bad body work stands out like a sore thumb to me.....especially the drip rail area. Has anyone on here shaved them off and welded the same to make it more modern...
My 1965 Belvedere I street wedge was originally EE1 dark blue. I ordered a vintage a Dizler paint sample, but it doesn't have any metallic flake in the sample which I don't think is correct. A local paint store can't find a blend for the factory color either. I'm just trying to get a sample...
Just wanted to report back. I opted to install the Flaming River steering coupler. I couldn't be happier. Any and all slop I had in the steering is gone and lots of header clearance now. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to tighten up the steering and/or gain header clearance.
Working on my basket case '65 again. Slowly sorting out issues from the original build 20+ years ago. Currently trying to tighten up play in the steering. The steering coupler has a lot of play and needs rebuilt, however, it appears there are come challenges.
The car had a manual steering...
Thanks for the info! I knew the entire side of the body could be grafted, but wasn't sure about specifics with the rear window frame and geometry/shape of curves.
I have a '65 Plymouth Belvedere 2 Door post. It was an eBay purchase that was from and ignorant or dishonest seller. It was restored by a previous owner 15+ years ago and started from a "southern rust free car". Turns out from what found, car was sold out Ohio and restored in...
Guys, I appreciate the replies so far. By far the most interactive group I've found yet!
I'm going to consolidate some questions and answer below. As stated, I bought the car like this. The stance looks very good for thr style, but mechanically it is a basket case. Rear suspension binds up...
I have a 1965 Belvedere 2 door post and I'm looking at suspension options. They rate the drop from stock. I bought the car as it sits in the pics lowered in front and I'm pretty sure it has different springs and hangers in the back. I have no reference on what the "stock" stance is.
Can some...
I got my build card from Chrysler. Good news is that my body tag is original and everything matches. There are a few things I can't find what they mean:
•Tires - 33
•Axel - 3
Anything else here outside of what I got from the body data tag?
Can any reproductions of this be obtained?
