Started welding some stiffeners and discovered my welder is not up to the job.
This is too much work for my little 115v Hobart 140.
What did you use to weld in you're frame connectors? Any MIG purchase recommendations?
Last week I wired a 240v outlet for a compressor and "new" welder just in...
Hey Andy, originally I had that in mind. But after some thought I decided to skip the possibility of running wire down through.
You would need to cut an outlet at the rear with a 90 degree bend. It's only three feet and would be much easier to run conduit along side (if needed).
If it was...
Hey guys,
What are you're thoughts about welding gussets in the US Car Tool sub frame connectors before they are installed?
I have made three gussets to weld in the channel just to ensure it doesn't lean when used for a 'jacking point' or ever twist.
I know it's probably overkill, but.. any...
I think it would be very helpful to start a new forum highlighting the best vehicle UPDATES and FACTS.
This could be read-only.
It could also include answers to the most frequently asked questions.
Content could include; wiring upgrades, Instrument upgrades, also, "largest tires to fit under a...
I decided to weld upside down on the US Car Tool connectors.
Ordered from Mancini and they arrived in two days!!
Wish me luck, it's getting cold in the midwest.
Was about to order US Car Tool floor pan sub frame connector, then remembered I saw somebody using a straight channel cut through the floor. Obviously, you make you're own channel and fit to frame and need to cut the floor pan, but is one better than the other? Easier?
I have a 68 Plymouth that...
I love the meme! Thanks for sharing.
Actually, someone reminded us how dangerous it was. They were right. But after everything this year, who know’s what to expect these days..
Not sure I’d call it thin skin…haha. Next time I’ll try not to bite back.
The beads and liquid have been used for...
I should also add that I really haven’t broke them in yet. Factory advises 500 - 1000 miles. I have nearly 100 miles on them. But already I can tell performance is noticeably improved.
I agree, they seem to bite better if just a tad more pedal force needed. Breaking performance is much better though.
I am also running drilled and slotted rotors.
Not sure how clean they will be, but anything is better than those OEM pads.
I should have named this post “lost in translation“..
First: you seem completely ignorant on ‘bead balancing’ or ‘liquid balancing’. People bead balance off-road, large or bias tires because they are typically more difficult to balance.
Second: I didn’t balance the wheels myself.. because I...
What are you running for brake pads on the 73 duster/dart brakes?
Got sick of the dust from the OEM pads, so I purchased a set of EBC ‘red stuff‘ pads. So far they seem much better!
During replacement my son informed me he needs “his own toolbox”.. oh boy.
Yes, that is EXACTLY was I did. Please explain what you are getting at.. not being confrontational- I don't understand why you’re so confused?
And for the record, if you insult- I’ll call it out.
