    Titanium Lug nuts

What would be spend to get a set of those Ti lug nuts? A good brand of quality nuts which are plated of some sort should last for years without corrosion.

727 kickdown bracket and cable adjustment

Chrysler used a lot of different levers, think that also had to do withthe engine/carb combination to get the geometry correct. The throttle valve supposed to match the exact same travel as the carb does over its full range. Best thing you could do on the outside is check that the throttle...

What's wrong with standard steel lug nuts nowdays?

dodge charger falls and stalls slightly when cold. Won't rund when hot.

When it runs like crap, monitor the AFR ratio on the display and see what it tells you. Sensor could be at fault, the EFI is programmed to enrich the fueling when the coolant is below 160F (or 165F?), once the temperature goes above it will follow the pre-programmed AFR value. If the AFR sensor...

727 kickdown bracket and cable adjustment

The throttle linkage is not there to adjust the shifting points, its main job is to increase the transmission Line pressure by approx. 40 psi over the stroke length. (i.e. 80psi - 120psi) The line pressure can be seen as system pressure in the overall hydraulic circuit. As the throttle is...

727 kickdown bracket and cable adjustment

Any history on the car? When did you decide to adjust it? Just installing the cable kit? changed/overhauled transmission or rear gearing? Knowing the last thing done could help determine what/where to look for.

727 kickdown bracket and cable adjustment

Just to make sure, did you change anything else previously? (Engine swap, Trans rebuild? other/different governor, rear axle ratio?) To know exactly what is going on you should measure the Line pressure and governor pressure to see if they are in specifications? Mostly, if the original governor...

    Low compression on rebuilt 440

I think the cam lube is a secondary measure to prevent damage. If the engine is fully primed and pre-oiled it should not wipe the cam due to lack of lubrication. It is a simple and cheap solution for a peace of mind when you fire it up the first time though.

    Low compression on rebuilt 440

He ment he has wiped all the cam lube off the lobes with all that rotating. If still possible, it would be good to slap some new lube on the cam before final start to make sure it has lubrication.

    Yup Another PCV Discussion

Just the fact that all the toxic gasses from the crankcase are re-routed to be burned in the engine instead of you inhaling them is enough reason to use a PCV i think. The complain about all the greasy/oily substance contaminating the intake could be an indication there is excessive blow-by...

Ported vacuum advance or manifold. Let's debate!

Never knew it was numbered like that in the US. I checked once more but it says E10 is 95 octane and E5 is 98 octane, looks like in Europe we do not use the RON identification anymore. (years ago it was though) In Germany you could even get 100 and 103 fuel, not sure they still have it though.

Ported vacuum advance or manifold. Let's debate!

I agree on that. But when starting on dialing in an engine from fresh (carb/ignition) you would (at least I would) start with a new set of plugs. After some dialing in and test driving you will get some feedback of them about the combustion process, being rich or lean is easy to spot. And if...

Ported vacuum advance or manifold. Let's debate!

So, for what do you check the spark plugs for then? Tire pressure? :fool: Don't you agree the plugs will tell a story about the fueling?

Ported vacuum advance or manifold. Let's debate!

Did i say to select a pre-determined AFR? We know an ideal WOT AFR is about 12.8 - 13.0, Photon440 also mentions the very lean (+14.7) mixtures engines can be cruising on. This is very variable and engine by engine as we all know and the right numbers need to be found by trial and error. Your...
