Help! Pivot Shaft to K Member Slop is it normal?

I'm in the process of installing Brand new lower Hotchkis LCA Pivot Shafts into A brand new QA1 K Member but it seems like there is a lot of up and down Play/Slop between the two. Is this normal? I checked it against my factory K Member and the play is there also but I don't have factory Pivot Shafts to compare. I can't see the the torsion bar actively supporting the the other end of the LCA and would think that tyhe pivot shaft would fit much tighter....
 
Post a picture of what part you are talking about. If you are talking about the shaft the lower control arm bushings press on to then no there shouldn't be any looseness.
 
The bushing side is fine. I'm talking about the tapered stud that bolts to the k Member. When you tighten the nut on the other side of K Member it gets tight but just sliding it into the hole it's very sloppy. It's almost like either the diameter of pivot shaft is small or K Member hole is to big.
 
I believe that once its knocked loose from the k, even like an 1/8" to 1/4", it flops around. Thats one of the key elements to getting t bars out without having to use the special tool.

It did tighten up once the the nut was tight but seems if that nut were ever to loosen (even slightly) it would cause big issues with lower control arm alignment.
 
The pivot shafts should never be loose in the k member even when it is hand tight. I would take your old pivot shaft and just put them in place and see if they have as much play. if not then there an issue with the new shaft. I have a NOS pivot that I can take measurement of if you would like to compare. Was there any scoring on your original shaft to show evidence of them twisting in the k member?

I missed that you are using the QA1 unit. I was thinking stocker that was showing its age. The tubes are what the control arm shaft slides through. They can get beat up over time.
