New "garage" in the works

Summer-2017------Twofer for RC&747 barn commemorations!!!!!!!! BYOB!!& Bbodies.

Are you going to refinish the large plank flooring on the second level?

Great thread. I love old barns as much as old cars. Good to see somebody save one instead of tear it down.

Did you need to change the ceiling level on the first floor in order to accommodate a hoist?

My barn has a massive room in the hayloft but only 7 ft ceilings in the bottom level.

Thanks! The "shed roof" portion of the garage has a raised ceiling to accommodate a car on a lift.

Some new pictures of tile work being done this week. I especially like the barnwood tiles on the floor in the foyer. Submit did a good job selecting those.

Looks like the garage is climate controlled! Who is the manufacturer of that unit?

Everything looking beautiful!

I have two ceiling hung hot water Modine heaters for all of the garage space & I got that wall mount Mitsubishi unit installed so I can have a/c, although it also does work produce heat as well.

The mistubishi unit is what I was referring to. Awesome unit. My buddy here who owns his own Heat/AC company put one in his shop and Loves it!

Let me know how it fares. I have been thinking of getting one for my garage and ditch the old unit.

I have 3 of them (running off of one exterior wall unit) in my place in NH & I really like them.

When is the party for all us FBBO members that have been watching, and drooling?
I have an RV so all I need is a spot to park......Hehe think cousin Eddy.
Really though, it looks fantastic!

very nice Dickie!! Submit has been doin a great job!

Looking really good now RC....how long till you have a move-in date?

Unfortunately, probably some time in early March. I'd like to think that we can box up a bunch of crap & set it up over there starting in February. Besides, who really wants to move in the middle of winter anyway?

That will be an awesome Easter gift for yourselves at least.

I can relate last time I moved it was Dec. 28th 2007,
it was snowing the whole damn day too...
Not fun, unloading cars of a trailer & empting U-Hauls in the snow...

What a freaken' mess, waited to last day before closing
& signing the papers, moved the rest of the stuff that day,
new owners took possession Jan 1st 2008...
I'm really glad I moved a portion of my tools
& most my garage stuff earlier...

Good luck the place is looking awesome...

Likewise when I moved back from Allentown,Pa. 30yrs ago it rained the whole time.

We'll, it's been a tough couple of months. We had the world's worst plasterer who made a complete mess of the walls. The builder kept telling us that the painters would take care of it, but they couldn't. On top of that, the painters were hackers also.

It came to a boiling point a little over a month ago when I told the builder to stop painting as it was just a waste of time, effort and money. To make a long story short, I told the builder that he's got two choices; remove all the trim and sheetrock and start over or get someone in who can repair the walls and repaint all over again. He went with option 2 and the repair/paint crew have been there for the past month refinishing. Right now, they are about 85 percent done and have pulled out for others to get in. This screw up has set us back 2+ months.

The hardwood flooring will go in next week, then the cabinets and remaining trim. Once all that's done, the painters will come back in to finish up. Then it's countertops, carpets and all the other little stuff.

After nearly 3 months of anguish, I'm feeling a lot better now, and I'd like to think that we are on the home stretch. Finally.
