For those of us who may be unfamiliar with the new Sec Def here is an excellent video out of UC Berkley, a question/answer discussion between him and a moderator. Long, but illuminating.

Thanks for posting that,
I'll save it & watch later when I have more time...

I like the guy...

Show real leadership qualities
{something we have been lacking for 8 years, hell 24 years}
& even some compassion when needed too...

, I just thought that maybe some folks were unaware of his true nature. The "mad dog" thing is really for the troops.

This guy is all about respect and calculated responses, think he's a great choice!

I miss the days when we could paint stuff on our Apaches, like sharks teeth and such. My chopper in Iraq was called the Super Chief. I wanted to paint a war chief head and headdress on the tail boom in the worst way. No dice. Hard to do anything in a military culture where you have to say mother may I for every damn thing...

Many planes were painted with all sorts of pics and sayings in Vietnam. Hell, my plane was a AC-130, named "Azreal"....meaning the Angle of Death.

Unfortunately, the public never sees the real leaders in our military. Thanks for posting.

"WE" just got approval for Nose Art on our F-22s here at the Flight Test center

Thanks for posting. That's a man I can listen to unlike everybody presently appointed by sissy pants. Very intelligent and well spoken man, if what you see is what you get we've got a brighter future ahead.

Anybody else feeling relieved lately lol.

I have only heard great things said about him, like , cool under pressure, brilliant mind, unassuming, non political, and more. The Mad dog stuff and all of the quotes are, and were, for consumption by young Marines. That's not who he is, in person. Although, I have zero doubt that he could morph into that person in the blink of an eye.

I am NOT a Trump fan (...and NOT a Clinton fan, either), but...

This is one decision I agree with.

Listen, Trump is NOT perfect, BUT he is less imperfect than Clinton and not liable to sell out to the globalists.

Semper Fi!!!! This man GETS it because he came up from the bottom! He was enlisted BEFORE he was commissioned. He worked HARD for what he has and where he is. He isn't going to book any bullshit from those with zero experience in the field who cannot back their position up with facts. It is going to be interesting!
