The Curse Of Oak Island

Don't watch a lot of the reality shows (a few). i'd rather read about history in my books and novels.

I'm watching the show again & I can't explain why! they just keep finding nothing..

I watched it last year & in the end, they found nothing. Now it's on again for season 2 and I can see that it'll be a repeat of last year. After each commercial break, there's about 3 minutes of recap from before the break, plus stories that they've repeated several times. Each hour long show has about 10 minutes of real content and after each episode, they come up empty.

I'm a sucker for watching buried treasure shows, but this thing is just one big disappointment. I'll admit that the show has me somewhat hooked, but rather than watching it when it's on, I just record it and fast-forward though 75% of the show.

Has anyone else watched this series on the History Channel?
Took the words out of my mouth. Love buried treasure and Oak Island definitely has something there. They nev r r seem to be getting anywhere and I gave them a season and a half.

So if they do find something, wouldn't the Canadian government just seize it?

I am badly addicted to this show but like a lot of people, tape it so I can fast forward through the non sense recaps and commercials. I swear a one hour episode somehow only showed dropping a camera down a hole...

I watch it, finding it interesting. I hope they find a treasure or some artifacts.

Yes, Oak Island has help some interest for me. But like anything else a show on my shop or your aunt edna... not everyday is fascinating. And the cash these guys must have spent.... yeeowwza!!! One show that I have thought was good is Hunting Hitler...

It's the same with most TV shows, that's why we gave up cable/sat TV.

I am very interested in the show. I saw the same Readers Digest story back about 1965. Always wondered what happened. However, tonights show, I'm about to give up . When are they going to find something in the bored hole? Looks like not anytime soon...........................MO

Reminds me of the story of the High bridge gold in my area. Its the same old thing ..Island, water, treasure, and death. They supposedly never found anything but their Island is surrounded by a very nice wrought iron fence.

I watch it the same way as I watch GYC, with my thumb on the FF.

The reason they never find anything is simple, if they did it would be the end of the show.

Remember "Lost", where they showed the same teaser previews 25 times across multiple episodes and only had about 5 min of new content per episode?

I couldn't handle it by midway through the third episode I attempted to watch.

"The Curse" does get boring but they did find coins last nite,(!)"Pickers",Pawn Stars,Chasing Classic Cars; love them all. FDR was on the island, also. I worked 30yrs on 2nd shift so now its all new to me!

Another season of teases & absolutely nothing to show for it,
a few musket balls found with a metal detector etc.,
But IMO if you watch the 30 sec. commercials
you pretty much got the gest of it & what they've found,
"NOTHING STILL !!"

{Much like the Treasure Quest; Snake Island show,
at-least they have a nice looking babe free diver :),
still very little pay off, but they at-least found something,
another show I'll sometime stop at but haven't followed really
}

I've maybe watched 6 episodes in total Curse of Oak Island,
another 6 partially, it's too boring & changed the channel
same ol' **** when nothing else is on
usually while reading a book or something,
it's on just for back ground, to keep Ol' Pops entertained/quite...

Who's going to be the 7th person to die ? :mob:

Seemingly stretch it out for eternity for no payoff,
always a tease they have found something the next episode,
back to reality, it's just another complete failure,
waste of more $$$$$

{At-least Gold Rush has a payoff every so often}
still just a reality show about digging in the dirt

I guess if they ever do find a lot of treasure, they wouldn't need the show to make money.. Everything would be locked down and secret. These episodes are filmed some time before airing, If they did find something big, I would think it would be leaked to the news......................MO
