Hi all, I just took my dash out for the first time to update the tach and I see this mad looking spring sticking out of the light switch, any idea how this should look before I take it apart?

What you are looking at is part of the rheostat for the dimming of the interior lights. It is generally wrapped in a circle and embedded in a ceramic circular base just behind the front of the switch frame. I'd say you're best to source a new switch because repairing this one and still having reliability electrically is pretty remote

Got mine at NAPA. Replace it now while you have the dash out, it's easier.

If that doesn't work try looking one up for a 69 Charger.
www.NAPAONLINE.com then put in the search box HL6568.
Interesting thing is it says "Not available Online", don't know why. But it does have a great picture.
Also I made a note in my parts book HL6571 will also work, just a difference in shaft length.

That one you can buy online. Incidently the Chrysler part # is 2809053. Good luck.
