Most American new car

so what your calling "jap crap" is really made in the usa ,wheres mopar /jeep , ford etc

Like Marty McFly said in BTTF ....all the best stuff is made in Japan.
For cars this is very close to the truth. Toyota family here....very reliable and easy to maintain.
Don't get me wrong...I love my American iron, but for us out here Japa's make sound economic sense.

1. Toyota Camry

2. Honda Accord

3. Toyota Sienna

4. Honda Odyssey

5. Honda Pilot

6. Chevrolet Traverse

7. GMC Acadia

8. Buick Enclave

It would be interesting to overlay the Red State/Blue State map on this "best quality" map.

My 2014 Jeep SRT is in the shop for the aluminum hood corroding and I got the privilege of driving a Dodge Dart for the week as a rental. The dealer repalced it at no cost but would not let me have a Hellcat for a rental instead of the anemic Dart. Cheap interior but the gas mileage was great. 0-60 in one minute give or take 30 seconds with the awesome power of 140 horses. No wonder FCA killed it last year as I would rate any Asian make better, if not superior, to this one example.

I believe the traverse, Acadia, and enclave are all built at the delta plant in Lansing Michigan

But how much of the money stays in America??
Time for somebody to step up to the plate and build a car IN America, with 100% American Resource, 100 % American Engineering & Labor & keep every fuckin penny in the AMERICAN economy. In line with Trump slogan "Make America Great Again"
"Hungry? Out of work? Eat Your import!"

Wranglers are assembled in Toledo Ohio. They used to make all the parts and build them there, but that's not the case anymore. Chrysler doesn't Even build the Wrangler body's. they're supplied by Kuka. I spent 32 years on the assembly line at Toledo Jeep plant.
Wranglers are built in toledo ohio

Sad part
is even our iconic American brands big 3 aren't built here
or the parts are outsourced to some foreign country

maybe some of that statistic & list will change in the near future

god I hope so

Owned one foreign car in my life, and it was a 61' English made Austin. I'm the one that drives the wheels off my cars and trucks. So far over the years, I have bought one transmission, in a Pontiac. I drive as much of an American car as I can afford. Yeah the Japanese cars are nice, but no thanks.

I am proud to say I have yet to own a "foreign" car. It's status that is getting tougher and tougher to maintain.

I wonder what a 100% usa built car would cost? I know the challenger and chargers are built In Canada, but the components come from everywhere.

The Hemi's are made in Mexico as far as I read. I wonder where the steel is made for the panels of FCA's vehicles? I deal with a lot of steel mills and most of them are foreign owned, Arcelor Mittal to name a one.

Just had my trusty Toyota Van repaired last week. The engine all of a sudden went into shock and the dash alarm sounded....engine shut down, and was 'seized' solid. It had been making a rattling noise prior, so something was not quite right. After having my buddy MowPar check it out, he replaced all the timing gear - belt and tensioners etc, along with the offending water pump. The pump had given up, and seized up completely. Given that the belts were all tight, the engine would not even turn over. Apparently a previous mechanic didn't think to suggest I replace the water pump last Timing belt change, so it went longer than expected.
All fixed up now, and we have a Trophy for our next "Ku-Hop Show".

The actual height left to pump water is less than 1/32" ....so I don't know how of why the engine did not overheat. The gauge dropped a small amount after replacement - standard height of fins is around 3/4". Runs really well now, and I'm pleased to have my parts hauler back at home. Makes me wonder how long this pump has been sitting there corroding away. :)
