im looking for the correct clutch safety switch for a '69 Dodge Charger. Did it come with one from the factory or will I just make something off the clutch pedal bracket and get a generic switch. Thanks!

Toby

I don't think they had any "clutch safety switches" back in '69. My '70 has a 2-wire reverse light switch, but that's it.

My '70 GTX also has a clutch safety switch. Its mounted under the dash and is s normally OPEN switch contact that is closed with the clutch peddle depressed. There is also a special start relay that is grounded with the clutch depressed, allowing engine cranking. It is a special part unlike the neutral start switch on the 727/904 transmission which also incorporates the backup light switch. The clutch start switch has a mopar part number.....i just cannot find it in my parts catalog. I'm sure someone else can provide you with the part number. Kramer Automotive Specialties in Herman Pa may be a source for an NOS part. He has a website....google Kramer sutomotive. Great lakes NOS may be another source...not cheap though.

Bob I couldn't get a call back from jw at Kramer

69 Coronet. No neutral safety.

Thanks for the info. This is a full custom build with a trunk mounted battery and starter solenoid so I just need the normally closed clutch safety. The pedal bracket is about the only thing on the car that is still stock so I thought maybe there was a switch that mounted somewhere on the pedal bracket. I will probably just make something.
