Time to order new heads, aluminum, want to use Dougs hedders need as much advice as can get.............please let me know any experience with all but B-1/BS, awesome heads but abt 1,000 ,more than budget thanks for any suggestions going on a 512 stroker BB, Solid roller mid .600 lift single 4 bbl auto w 3.91 gears in 66 Charger

3,000 on heads w necessary shafts/rockers and studs or head bolts and pushrods <>possibly

My Indy EZ - 1 Max Wedge style made good power on the dyno. Stock low port location for standard headers. We'll have to see how they perform at the track. The Trick Flows sure look good.

Are you going to buy an intake manifold or do you already have one you are going to use?

Im planning to run ported little ez's on my 511. Should be over 700hp with no problem according to a very experienced builder. I'm running stepped tti headers.

A lot depends if you want to run a m/w port or not. Always hard to beat a well preped set of indys. The tf 240 is a good medium of the road head (cost wise) that will get it done if you want to stay with standard port windows. Looking at your budget I would do the 240 head, that way you have a plethora of cheaper intake options. Decent Heads and rockers will eat up 3G pretty quick. You'll be over 3 by the time you buy all that other stuff.

Giving my self some room as far as budget, no intake decision either..........Only absolute is keeping hood clearance and single 4BBl, very likely a dual plane, will see street stop sign to stop sign 99% of the time, however get challenged to go to local highway with 1/4 mile marked off, sure do not want it quit before finish line. 6600/7000 max, want power early as 2500..........Have already narrowed down to INDY, TF, Edelbrock and Mopar stage 6/7 possibly. If I wasn't upgrading suspension F/R very likely would go w B1/BS if I could get piston combo to run 10.75 max comp, definately going to run pump gas. Thanks so much for the help

What do you define as power at 2500?

I ran 240 TrickFlow heads on a 440 with a solid roller street cam .600"+ lift, 4150 dual plane intake. 596 HP at 5,900 rpm and then began to tail off. The 440 was making 500 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm.

I'd be tempted to go 270 TrickFlow and an Indy Dual Plane on a 512.

Power band beginning @ 2500 or so...Do want a wide band, Built a 512 using a 440 ten+yrs ago using the Indy EZ heads for a customer, the heads then created clearance problems for MSD......I will need to find out if they have cast a concave area at the end of the head. Time cruising will happen much more than WOT for any distance (course I want both :)...................decisions decisions thanks for info, greatly appreciate it
