Hey, Guys. I'm going to drop a 440 in my 65 satellite. The car was born with a 361. But then someone put in a 318. I understand all big blocks (318-426w) will work on that K frame without modifications. But will a 440 fit onto that K frame without mods? Can I simply use the 440 mounting brackets and rubber mounts and drop the 440 on that 65 K frame?
Thanks for any help!

Sorry. As i was reading my post above i realized i called a 318 a big block. Apologies. I could get strung up making such a mis-statement. LOL. I meant to say I understand all V8's will work on that K frame without modifications.
Thanks again for your time.

You will need the 63-5 mounts and brackets for the 440. I had one in my Coronet which originally had the poly. 66 and newer units are different unless you use the 66-newer k frame which changes a few other things. If you can't get the brackets/mounts from someone here, you may check with 440 source or Shumacher.

Nope. V8 units, except hemi, are the same. Mounts are different between the poly and the big blocks. Same on the hemi. If you don't have a V8 k, you can get hooked up by Schumacher as the have conversion mounts to use the /6 k.

Bull1tt, do those Advance links contain the particular insulator part numbers you used for your mounts?

Bull1tt, I opened the link and it said that those mounts don't fit a 426 or 440. What mounts did you use? Thanks

Use engine mounts with part numbers 2227 and 2228. Most manufacturers use the same last digits.

Check fit doesn't always work on some websites out there. Try changing (on Advance Auto website) your vehicle to a 1964 Plymouth Fury with a 426... that would be same k-member and mounts you need. The mounts fit that model, which will fit yours.

So, after posting this morning, I did a little digging around online and found these same mounts for $2.38 #2228 and $2.41 #2227 each for these mounts. I ordered four sets, and with shipping, my grand total was $26.19! I should be good for a while, got an email that said my order shipped today!

Not too often we get to purchase something for our 65's that doesn't make us cry, huh? Thanks again!
