I bought all new console parts and installation challenge on final piece, the door. The acorn nuts and/or any self tapping nuts I bought cannot bite onto the tapering studs of the door through the holes in the hinge. The studs do not seem long enough to get a grip to hold. I am trying this w/ the hinge installed on the console in the car, hope to not pull console back out and do this on the bench Not sure it would work out of car on the bench.

Any input or advice, I tried to tap and add a nut but that is not looking too promising. Anyone else experiencing this challenge?

I ended up getting this resolved, I used Nyloc nuts and works great!

I did have to modify the slots with a rat tail file to elongate the holes on the hinge to get this aligned, almost done getting it squared away.

I was surprised no one else had this same challenge and hope my struggle and solution helps others.

Pictures would be great!

The nuts works great after much frustration! Pic per request. I am not done making adjustments to get this aligned, that is a new challenge as it fits very tight on both sides of teh lid.
