Throttle Safety Spring?

To get back to the original question of this thread........

I did the double spring thing on mine as well. Just don't remember where I got the spring. I think it was out of a spring assortment pack purchased at Advance maybe?

Is it a spring with a "sheath" on it?

Some tracks will require a second spring in order to run. I'm not sure what exactly dictates this but I'm sure it's a safety thing in case a spring would break. Another reason I'm wanting a second one.

You're welcome Justin, glad to be able to help out somehow.

PS. Who's Mike??
lol...my error, had you confused with someone else...a bad habit of mine and not by choice....

If no one has noticed, I repeat names in my build thread...If I do not I will surely forget or I go back pages or pm's to remember.....

That was the help I needed and thanks again...

Even the hokey track in Reno made me go to Summit for a second Spring to get through Tech.

A second spring sounds like a good idea, I've always just had a single.
I can't imagine what would happen if it broke with all six barrels wide open.
I'll do some measuring for closed and wot, I'm sure I'll find something.
Thanks guys

I have always run with two springs. Back in 78 we were in my buddies 70 charger, 440, tunnel ram, built to the hilt. Spring snapped as we were going toward a a tee in the road at 50. The peddle went down to the floor. Luckily we were far enough away he was able to get ahold of the peddle and pull it back up. By this time we were running 85/90 put it in neutral and was able to stop. Learned from that experience immediately. You can buy dual springs in a package. DONT RUN WITHOUT DUAL SPRINGS!!

When I walk thru the pic-a-part yards I get a hand full of springs, clips and what not from the RWD Mopars. Lots of mid to late 80's stuff and Dodge trucks.Usually charge a few bucks.I re-worked the 2 bbl linkage to a 4 bbl and used the springs from the wrecking yard.
