If you can get the bolts in the heads with the paper gaskets, then use them for extra seal. If the heads have been surfaced then there probably wont be enough room for both sides to have the gasket. Like Billccm said, maybe your engine will seal better with only one gasket and some good sealer...
Sage advice, I not as young and daring as I was, ( turned 75 last week). And this repair way above my skill level. So between a new sub frame, pulling motor and reinstall thinking $2k minimum . And challenge is finding some one to do it right. Budget tight .
Didn’t check other bolts, but no rust...

If you follow Nick's Garage on YouTube he claims the paper gaskets are used with aluminum intakes. The explanation is you can't get the same torque between aluminum and iron intakes. I solved a vacuum issue on my 383 by using one paper gasket per side as recommended by Edelbrock.
Will get scraping and see what I find. Budget tight so repair IF possible first choice. Don’t have the skill level to do it . To do it right would have to pull motor kinda stuck.
Have to think seriously about this, budget tight. I’m a low grade shade tree mechanic so I can’t do it my self. Thinking frame probably $400-500 , pull the motor and reinstall would think $1500. Kinda stuck.
Thanks
