When you shut off the engine at freeway speeds, what changes, and what stays the same?
Same:
Tires on the pavement
Wind over and under the body
Rear axle And driveshaft spinning, but zero load.
Wheel bearings
Changes:
No engine noise
Reduced or altered transmission noise
No exhaust noise.
So...
Get up some speed on the freeway, **** to N and turn the engine off, how is the road noise now?
Fond a NEW paved asphalt freeway and drive on it, turn the engine off, compare this to a concrete or old pavement.
Oh I believe you can do fine with it, and probably not the problem here, but there is no advantage to 20/50 over thin oil at breakin.
Breakin is a no load situation that will appreciate as much lubrication and cooling as you can get. 20/50 won't give any of that.
In the past I used 20/50 in...
Photos. The chrome is pot metal, it's soft. The nut is plated and water does not sit anywhere near there, so it will come off just fine. DO NOT tighten the nut first. Use a 6 point socket with some putty in it so it will retain the nut, or else it will drop inside the quarter panel.

Remove rear seat
remove rear door panels
Remove metal upper panels
Remove package tray
Remove headliner from pillars. (Be very careful you don't tear it)
Remove cardboard panels from pillars.
Remove the "teeth" that secure the...
Do you have power brakes?
Do you care about fuel mileage?
Can you tune a carburetor?
The 484 isn't very stock and too big for most street cars. Mileage will be Gone!
2.7 gears suck! They kill the torque. People always think of high gear freeway rpm, but it is much more than that.
Really wakes up a low power engine to change the rear end gears,
I'd use 10/30 non synthetic.
For the roller cam, any engine oil. For the rings, not synthetic.
Do you know:
What kind of rings used, amd cylinder wall finish?
how many miles on it?
Bearing clearances?
The bearing clearances and type of driving tell us what weight to use.
Synthetic keeps...
Both the outboards are the same bowl.
The center and outboards are different bowls. The secondaries don't have an accelerator pump, or a vent on the top, and the fuel level plug hole is higher on center and lower on secondary.
Keep everything. Is 440 parts and pieces plentiful or hard to find in Australia?
Why is it people who are on their first 440 always need 500 cubes and a roller cam for the street?
