Ammeter bypass (or whatever you call it)

I give up....the fiber insulators can do the same thing. When an idiot tightens the ammeter nuts without holding the nut behind the terminal it twists the shunt. The stud is swaged in and this action loosens it. That is all. Plastic or metal it will heat up and fail. Can we just agree it is a...

    Are you a narcissist?

I saw this on another car forum where the members are often younger and more obnoxious. Mark knows the forum.... Here are my results: I agree, it takes more than a simple test to get a read on who someone really is.

My '71 Duster pays a visit to Nick's Garage

Nice,Nice, Nice. It's funny that you mentioned an 833 as I had delivered one to Nicholas two years ago at the Carlisle meet. Here's the short story. I drove my friends 1970 R code Challenger to the meet as my truck had some mechanical issues and I couldn't take a trailer of parts. So, after the...

    Are you a narcissist?

Your comment seems at face value a bit at odds. I am not sure how a true preoccupied self-centered person has a real concern with self-image regarding others, unless they are rather insecure. Also seems a true narcissist doesn't seek close relationships, as they love themself first and...

    Are you a narcissist?

I can't wait to tell you war stories about how I used to fight with the human resources manager over this stuff. She liked simple, measurable data, and as the first line of defense for preventing bad hires, that made her job easier. She was usually right. But, and I've lived a life defined by...

Ammeter bypass (or whatever you call it)

The referenced difference in construction is exactly the plastic cluster frame of the trucks and the pot metal cluster frames of the passenger cars, as referenced in the Mad Electrical article. The plastic being much less tolerant of any heat generated by resistance at the stud head to ammeter...
