    Another Chevy engine question.....

I have a large journal crank (door stop?) for a 327 that's turned down .030 on the mains. Journals are .020 but are there bearings made for .040 under? I'm pretty sure it's going to need turning. Someone painted it thinking it was going to protect it but it didn't. Not in the Houston area at...

Tools that you don't use very often and didn't use them a whole lot to begin with....and had to 'relearn' it....

Mine was a dial bore gauge...got it shortly before I stopped doing engines for others and used it a few times but over 20 years ago. I'm checking out a 327 old school Chevy engine (first one to ever be in my shop!!) and decided to set it up for it and.....well, took me a bit to get it right lol.

Roof Maxx shingle spraying treatment a junk product?

The house next door was built 18 years ago and a new owner took over about 5 years ago and had the shingles sprayed/cleaned a couple of years later. Looked good until Hurricane Beryl came through a little over a year ago and blew a lot of them off. My roof is around 25 years old and lost one tab...

Just bought a 5th wheel.....uh, for the spare tire. Question about the air pressure sensor.

The new/used wheel came with the air pressure sensor and I'm wondering if it will work with the vehicle's computer. The wheel is for a 22 Chevy Colorado. The original spare didn't have one since it's just a steely and the truck has the upgraded aluminum wheels on the ground.

Our old vehicle's horns power draw ?

Found a horn (probably off my Belvedere?) that still works but it didn't seem very loud. Last time to check one was back in the 70's. Is a 6 amp battery charger stout enough for a horn test?

Is a reverse mortgage any good????

Did one after my last wife took all the money and not much else. So far, this house has survived 2 X's and I'm into my 3rd. Was prepared to live the rest of my life single before this crazy woman came into my life about 6 years after my divorce lol. All I can say is that....I'm happy!! I'm...

What's it Worth 2000 4dr Dakota factory 360 with some goodies....

Very nice truck that belongs to a friend. Was with him when we found it 100 miles west of Houston when it was just a couple of years old. Anything that was wrong with it, he fixed right away. Out of the blue he wants a new Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Summit? package. I know they are nice but...

How old were you when you bought your first house?

For me, 23 and a few months out of the military....assume a VA loan for 2500. The house was 19500 in 73 (141600 today's money). Pretty decent place to live until it flooded in 79 and did so 2 more times. Sold it in 84 for around 45k.

Ever had a funeral you didn't want to attend???

I'm there.....for a long time friend that just wouldn't take care of himself with diabetes that spanned 30+ years. Not going into detail because it would be lengthy but was always there for him. He was in a health care facility recently that got him on the right track after two episodes in a...

    Yup, flooding down in Texas....

Hope no one here lives in the Austin areas. A friend of mine lives in Kerrville but is on high ground. The Guadeloupe River water level went up more than 26' in less than an hour! My thoughts and prayer go out to the ones that were caught in it. I also find it odd that the area doesn't have an...

After how many years of being gone......uh, 10. These days I don't watch too much unless the race is on one of the more exciting tracks.

    100 bucks in 2000 is now 188!

One of the reasons I quit taking in rear end jobs is too many wanted to pay 1990 prices!

    Indy 500 anyone?

I'm recording it....might be interesting with a rookie on the pole and Penske in the back. This is the very first time for the rookie to race on any oval track.

Favorite moments of going fast with your spouse!

This was back in the late 70's and my first wife hated going fast especially if I did it quick....or if she was awake lol. My dad lived in Lake Charles and I was still in SE Houston about 150 miles away. One day we started out to LC and she soon fell asleep like she usually did and I upped the...
