Went to the track Friday. What should I try next?

The crossram is costing you at least 40+HP. Put the single plane indy intake on and borrow beg or steal a good 1050 Dominator and you will pick up probably 3 tenths. I have been there and done just that. Take my word for it. Or stick with the crossram and never go in the 10s with your current...

    The best Starter

PowerMaster Techs say DO NOT WRAP THE STARTER...it just hold heat in.. When you wrap the headers it is very hard to keep the wrap in place...waste of time I think. I don't think it is a starter issue (of getting hot). Power Master Tech says make sure you starter has a good ground So.. I ran a 1...

    straight axel

I had the motor hanging by a chain on a roll away hoist (cherry picker). I pushed the motor back until the supporting chain actually hit the windshield. I then welded up some motor mounts on the frame rails at that point and a rear transmission crossmember mount. I had already altered the rear...

    straight axel

Axle not Axel....lol I posted a couple pixs of my straight axle installation (done in 1967). I ordered the tube front straight axle from a company named CAE who primarily supplied front axles for sprint cars, etc. It was NOT an I-BEAM front axle out of an A-100 Dodge Pickup. I ordered it set up...

    New hood

My hood and pin setup on my old Coronet. It was a hinged hood. The rear pins were dummies for looks only. I made a simple air dam around the rear of the carb which directed air into the carb after it entered the scoop. I liked the look of the the 4 pins in front though maybe not necessary. Hood...

Your best side by side race?

In my 66 Coronet....Closest race for me...Semi Final. I ran a 10.1700 on my 10.17 dial. My opponent ran a 11.599 on his 11.60 dial. I have a picture of the time slip but for some reason it wouldn't load.

    Easy front end weight reduction

I don't know how much weight I saved on my 66 Coronet front bumper brackets but after I cut them down the new ones weighted almost nothing. Only good for fiber glass front bumper though.
