I chose the day 2 look for me since I bought my #s matching HEMI GTX in 1976. As an 18 year old the way to go back then was with standard 1970's upgrades. It already had Cragar SS' and an Accel dual point from the prior owner. My first step was to add headers and turbo muffs with turndowns ahead...
Can anyone recommend a dash speaker restoration business? Since my '69 GTX is an unrestored original HEMI car I'm trying to keep all it's born with parts in place. Has anyone had any success in having their speaker restored? Thanks for any suggestions.
To the best of my knowledge all auto tans were the 727 HEMI Torqueflite , and the 4-speeds were the A-833 18 spine HEMI trans. Either trans were built to handle all the top performance engines of the time.
d0n1, sorry for your loss. I own a '69 HEMI GTX and in my research I found that there were 198 HEMI GTX's built in '69,
99 automatic, 99 4-speed. Nobody knows how many are left. Your story does give hope that I can be that Uncle and Great Uncle to my nieces and nephews with my GTX.
Thanks for the offer. The overall length is 2.04 and the knurl is .628+/- on my original. My son is restoring a numbers matching '66 HEMI Charger and could use them. If you are willing to sell them, I'm pretty sure he would appreciate it. Thanks again.
Does anyone have a source for the left hand wheel studs for a 69 HEMI GTX with Bendix disc brakes? I have to thank the tire shop for stripping one. The only studs I have found are from Frank Balalson and they fit '70 and later disc brakes. Since the car is an unrestored 54K mile car I would...
Thanks for the response.
I've looked under both front bucket seats, behind the front seat backs, under the carpet, on top of the glove box, and found 3 different build sheets under the back seat. None of the three match my car. My hope is that someone has come across it.
I am looking for my missing build sheet, RS23J96107360.
I've owned this GTX since '76 and haven't found it anywhere in the car.
It did have 3 other partial sheets from 3 different Satellites.
Thanks for the help. Now that I have a part number I can find it. All our local 18 year old part jockeys are clueless. If it's not an import they don't want to be bothered. I've tried 5 different stores (Autozone, O'reilly, Pepboys and more) and it seems to be too much work for them to figure it...
I put new tires on my GTX and the tech stripped a wheel stud. My GTX is a factory HEMI car with the Super Track Pak. I can't locate a correct wheel stud for the Kelsey Hayes 4 piston calipers anywhere. If anyone can help me out let me know. I've attached a photo so you can see what it looks...
