I knew I would have a bunch of questions when putting this thing together. I've checked and apparently my kit more or less is from a 76 A-body. The Caliper and hoses are anyway the best I can tell. Cross referencing auto part sites. So does my front brake hose look alright? Not to tight? Right...
Ok found on-line the purpose for the rubber bands/o-rings = anti rattle. But what are those flat washers for? I was thinking maybe put under the bolt, but the bolt has a nice big flange. So I'm at a loss here. No idea. Any thoughts?
Hey fellas
Another one of my **** questions. I'm installing disc brakes up front and I'm wondering if I should use my old hardware when it come to mounting the upper/lower ball joints, caliper mounting brackets, tie rod ends and what not. The original ones that came on my 70 Charger were all tri...
Good morning all
I just spent many hours tearing apart the shop looking for mine. For the love of me I put them some where and I can't find them. Just lately. I bead blasted them, black oxidized them and put them????????
Great to be getting old. NOT!
Any good source to pick up the springs...
Like the title says.
I'm just installing a clutch type diff in my 489. I'm not removing the pinion and I'm going to switch over the original ring gear to the sure grip. I'm using the same carrier bearings and cups that came with the 742. They will fit right? Anything else I should be aware of...
Good morning Fellas
Quick question. The interior door handles on my 1970 Charger should be able to unlock the doors with out pulling up the lock knob right?? My drivers door works like this but my passenger mechanism seem to override that feature. When the door is locked the rod coming back...
Hey guys. Another Saturday evening in the shop watching the hockey game. After following many members tips and tricks during their restorations. I have been following Black_ Sheep's GTX thread lately and of course anything that Wayne does aka dadsbee. Well I seen Mark using that Caswell black...
Hey Guys. A quick question. Brake line from front to rear 3/16" correct? Hose to rear end fitting 1/4" Doesn't add up?? Could I have wrong hose? Factory screw up?? C-Body? I don't think so. Could it be a front hose? It was sold as rear brake hose 13 1/8 long.
First picture is of the brake line...
Some of you might have already seen this. Just checked out Mopar Connection Mag. on You tube. Pretty good vid. Real Mopar stuff starts about half way in. Not cheap! But it's there. But it's there. Along with a hoods/fenders. Now I couldn't come close to purchasing, but some could. So there you...
G'day guys and gals. I thought what the heck I think I know the answer but since I have all you for a reference, why not.
Tapping plates are what they are referred to in the parts book for the 1970 Charger/Coronet (yes it say T plate but for the other models is says tapping plate) and all the...
Hey guys/gals.
Was just wondering if anybody used one of those small painting domed shelters to keep the overspray down? I see some of them can accept a fan for exhaust. Up here in Canada our HF=Princess Auto has them on sale for 20 bucks for the small ones. I geared up temporary paint shelters...
Hey guys I just posted on Lorny's thread about his 440 motorhome find. Well I also just found one. Hard as hens teeth to find my way. And It also came out of a 75 motor home. Anyway to get to the point. Is this thing salvageable. It has some pretty bad pitting in a couple of the cylinders. Six...
Good morning gang.
Was bored the other day and decided to spruce up my old 4 barrel intake so I thought I'd give it the big clean/blast and paint.
Removed the heat shield plate on the bottom to see how carboned up it was. Zero carbon, a little soot. While I was cleaning the soot seen the crack...
Good morning fellas.
I thought I'd upgrade my old tool bench I built when I was 15 years old. Almost 40 years ago. I built it out of rough lumber and she was a bear. Very solid and never had any problems setting a small block and 904 on her with no issues. (together)
Well a week ago or so went...
Hey guys. Hope everyone is good.
Just came in from the shop playing with my blast cabinet. Same as Harbor Freight. I watched all the videos of those mods they all swear by. I picked and choose with ones I deemed necessary. I had a small bench top before and still do. Well anybody that has one...
Hey guys just thought I'd throw this out there for those interested. After reading a few posts here and there on a few forums. And then after seeing Jeff Brundage's wiper motor on his sweet 69 Coronet R/T. I decided to give Stephan Fournier a call. Great guys to talk with. Very knowledgeable...
Hey guys. I just thought I'd throw this out there to see what you all think. Roger my body man, thought he would do a trial run to see what the burnt orange would look like on a body panel. He just picked up a small amount to give it a try.
At first I didn't really care for the color but man...
I imagine this must be covered some where but I not sure what to search for. But what does everybody do with these parts? Do you paint them? Sand blast and prime then paint? Clear only? RPM them? Or run them raw? Plating is not a option up here. I understand you would have to take the...
Hey guys, just finished putting a clutch rebuild kit in my sure grip. Torqued it all down. Was just wondering if I should have of used blue Loctite? If so I'll just go back and undo one bolt at a time and apply. Any thoughts?
Also I'm replacing my open diff with said sure grip. Should blue...
Hi guys. Was just wondering if anybody ever seen this before. Took apart my springs on Saturday and epoxy primed them. Seen a bit of something on them but didn't really notice anything until we put the first coat on them yesterday. My body man let them dry and I went out to see them today. We...
