What I'm curious about is that the base casting number is correct and has not been restamped. The SA would indicate a service replacement "but" the date code is E7 which does not coincide with the 69 model year.Also,the heated choke can be used on any AVS/AFB in lieu of original mechanical choke.

The spring is at least 1 1/8" long,even if it broke,it could not come off the shaft unless the retainer cap/ring was missing.And,you do not need to remove the air horn to install the spring.

And how many restored/new center carbs have the wrong choke pull off ? Top is correct,bottom from 4 bbl but it will work,probably on 75 % of sixpack cars out there.

As your comment on needle/seat threads,you would be amazed how many I get with stripped threads.If I get six sets,I guarantee you that at least two bowls will need inserts,same with end base mixture screws with half the head broken off,then they try and drill,end result,also needs an insert...

One of the things you will probably hear is that it's green,in my opinion that is a moot point,as far as $,you may even dream a little higher for what it is and if as good as it looks!
