I posted this on another Mopar website: Suddenly the 727 in my pickup is not shifting into high gear. First to second is normal around 15mph unless I accelerate hard. Normal acceleration or otherwise it doesn't shift into high gear at all. It stays in second. I haven't changed anything...

The 440 in my pickup has started smoking after startup. It quits smoking after a couple of minutes. Blue oil smoke. Hard throttle after warm up, no smoke. If it's driven frequently, no smoke. If it sits for a few days, smoke. Is there something I should check other than valve stem seals?
