    Bearings

Changing out the rearranging on my 318, and I was looking at the bearings and noticed discoloration on the ends. Are they bad or is this normal? I rebuilt the engine 8 years ago and the car is usually driven a few times a week when the weather is nice. Thanks for any advice you guys have.

I looked at these, how difficult are they to put in. Do I need any special tools?

    SB Motor Mounts

I have not, I could look into it. Oddly enough it's the passenger's side that looks worse I thought usually the driver's sides had the problems.

    SB Motor Mounts

Hi guys, I've got 74 Satellite with a 318. My motor mounts are tearing after only 8 years. I'm having a hard time finding the correct mounts in stock the few I can find are back-ordered over a month. I need the spool style I think it's called? Does anyone make a better version of these mounts...

    Drivetrain Vibration/Resonance

You can sort of hear it in this video at the local drag strip. and see me get smoked by one of my high school students. https://youtube.com/shorts/51yq7nJ5K6k?feature=share

    Drivetrain Vibration/Resonance

Hi guys I've got a 74 Satelite Sebring, its been moded a bit. Has a rebuilt 318 and A518 (Transmission 727 with OD). It has a vibration/resonance that is RPM-related. It starts slow and low and as RPMs build, it gets faster and louder, especially over 3000 RPMs at highway speeds but once it...

    Stumble @WOT

Im a teacher and the Car Club advisor. The kids talked me in to running my car at the track this weekend. First time ever doing this. First time ever doing this. Car ran great in the quarter with WOT. But did have some lean issues after leaving. Still have some issues to hunt down but...

Okay. Ill give it more I was just really far into my transfer slot on the primary side I tried it because i watched a video on one of the holly videos about it. Also found this interesting but will keep playing with timing for now...

    Stumble @WOT

Okay so update. Changed the power valve to a 7.5 so it opens a little sooner. Not sure if the old one was bad or not but after i replaced it the car did run leaner so maybe it was leaking a little? Also cracked open the secondaries a little with the set screw. Car is running alot better! still...

    Stumble @WOT

Update.. brought my initial timing up to 15-16 degrees BTDC. Reduced the amount of vacuum advance to about 5 degrees at idle and hooked it up to the manifold vacuum. Also reduced the mechanical advance a bit because previously my total advance had been about 38 degrees and i had...

    Stumble @WOT

Yes it feels awful in person. Okay ill switch the line and check the PV and I've also been wanting to add more timing back in. Will the power valve obviously be bad by looking at it? I do want/need to change the rear end gears eventually but the car didn't used to do this so something changed.

    Stumble @WOT

Currently on the timed/ported vacuum. I had it on the manifold vacuum but was trying it on ported vacuum to see if i was pulling in too much timing at idle? The back fire is occurring when the lean spike happened on the engine. The lean spike is the when my gauge goes to 17 Air to Fuel then the...

    Stumble @WOT

Yes the advance is hooked up to ported vacuum. I haven't tried to drive it with no vacuum yet. I can try that this evening.

Okay so i returned the carb to stock. and removed all the spacers/adaptor, now its just a square metal plate adaptor. I set the transfer slot to a square but had turn the screw up a bit to get the car to idle. Timing is at 10 degrees BTDC. Car runs a bit better but the bog is still there and the...
