Thanks! I had done a version of this, but if I leave the lid off the reservoir and the pump, the fluid some how drains back to the pump and then over flows.
I can try again by topping up to the top of the reservoir ‘straw’ then sealing the reservoir, and just leaving the pump lid off. And...
Starving could be an issue as it overflows and runs out of fluid.
When stopped it feels like it drains back to overflow. Again part of why I was considering the system needing to be pressurised.
With a cooler in place and a reasonable amount of duos, I don’t think overheating could be the...
Overflow, basically from when the system was full, engaging the brakes would over fill the system when pressing the brakes. If enough room was left, there wasn’t enough fluid for the booster
Hi all,
I’ve done a custom hydroboost brake set up in my ‘68 coronet and it brakes amazingly.
But, I can’t use the car as the fluid keeps over flowing and I think it’s due to the fluid foaming / frothing.
The set up is a hydroboost from a Silverado or similar. Runs off the stock Saginaw...
New QA1 upper ams, rebuilt lower arms and coupler. but I had the coupler off a couple of weeks back. I'll have a look at it this week...
Pretty sure I need to swap to a rebuild or burgeon box at this point, but I want to eliminate all other possibilities first.
Not 100% it’s bump steer, but it does happen on rough roads and through bumps.
Train or tram tracking is what Aussies call when a car’s front wheels jerk steering to follow ruts or grooves in the road. Kind of like having too much toe, a small wheel adjustment and suddenly it will veer like...
hi all, the steering on my coronet has been sub par for a while. Due to a damaged rim, I’ve had to change to 18”s for a while and it’s made it all a lot more obvious and frankly not fun to drive.
I’ve had an alignment to no avail. I’m adjusting a few things that might be effecting it. But...
The plastic push in stand off's are the same size around all headlights. The 68 headlight surround/grill extension is basically straight in line with the grill, so it sinks 'deeper' in the the quarter as it goes out from centre, this is because the quarter is not straight across but slowly comes...
How did you get past this? I have the same problem, but I've been putting it off. I was expecting to have to remove the windscreen, replace wiht longer clips then reinstall - but if you have a better option, I'm all ears!
I was thinking electric fan to be honest, mainly for a safety thing as I will have my kids in and around the car, but maybe the back up is a fan mounted to the pulley. Would be easy to add and remove it if absolutely necessary...
What are peoples thoughts on a electric push fan instead? That...
Building a hotrod using a 440 and I’m looking at fan options. My coronet has a jag clutch fan that I got recommended from here, but I’d like a thinner option.
Anyone got any cool tips?
Thanks!
Thanks. I forgot to post up the photo of the wiring diagram I have. Worked it out but my wiper button is fubar.
Time to throw a wad of cash at year one. :/
Hi all,
I’ve got the dash apart to replace the variable light switch, putting it back together and I’m lost with the wiper and washer switches.
So I have a bulk connected for the wiper switch, with one prong free. Washer button has two prongs and I have 4 plugs.
One is brown with white...
Yep that’s them. I’m guessing the only way to swap these over is to weld in the newer ends. Bugger.
Guess they will be ok for set up, but are going to be more work than the ebody housing I have.
Hmmm,
Mine has no flat spot and the 5 studs are evenly spaced. I'll try and get a photo tonight. I was told 60-61 but from a local dodge 'Phoenix' which is based off of the fury from memory. Has a what appears to be a 8 3/4 centre, but the brake bakings are definitely different.
I just picked up one of these tapered Axle rears on the weekend for cheap to use in my hot rod build. Naively I didn't even realise there was a different axle type for the 8 3/4! Not too stressed as it probably makes the rear even more period with the build I'm going for.
I have a complete rear...
Yeah agreed, the Vega box is probably my preference, but I'm trying to find out if either will work with the pitman shaft pointing up first then work from there.
