Absolutely. Matter of fact just tied in the trans on Friday and made sure the plate was installed before setting the starter... Probably not going to have a castrophic failure if it's not there however; if you have it. Install it....
Mopar Electronic. I tore it down, removed the vacuum advance, fastened the plat and set the mechanical advance at about 9-10*. That Crossram likes about 24* initial and 34* total.
I did a search and found nothing however; I seem to recall a thread/post talking about not using and MSD 6AL with a stock Mopar Electronic Dist?? Anyone see a down side to doing this. I have upgraded to a Blaster2 coil. I can run an MSD dist but would rather stay with the Mopar piece for the...
I landed on the Derale controller also. in the '64, I run two High Volume Derale Pushers and a Derale Trans Cooler (Electric) So far very happy with their performance.
5X on what Dennis said. Currently have the '64 cluster at Redline in CA. for a freshen-up and conversion to voltmeter. (melted the ammeter last summer). :-(
They are. About 10 months ago I ordered engine, dash, front and rear light harnesses from them for my '69 Barracuda. am still waiting on the rear light harness. I think it depends greatly on the year/model. I will say they are worth the wait. I used them for the '64 Dodge and couldn't have...
I used this set up on the '64. Can be configured multiple ways to meet you needs. Clean set-up, water proof and reasonably priced! The application is mostly busses and fleet equipment.
Here is the tech sheet and I ordered from Waytechwire.com over the phone using credit card. Super...
I have a few questions, but first the story....
I knew I was running on borrowed time with the ammeter set up in the '64 after i added all the electrical draw devices. Two rad. fans, One trans cooler fan, Electric fuel pump, EFI ECU, MSD... and so on. Had a factory rated 45A alternator...
Need opinions and advice. I've decided to install a "hot switch" on the car so when I start the car I can get the assy. turning then hit the switch to energize the ignition circuit. currently, it's like all;
fire to the plugs off the key/start mode.
I know a lot of you guys do this...
Well, was able to get out for a bit last night. It bucked the starter a little more than before but not a show stopper. it always fires on the second compression stroke when hot. I did get a little pinging at WOT which will be fixed by pulling down the mech adv. by a couple degrees. Which is...
Over the past couple weeks been following a thread about ported vs. manifold vacuum as it relates to emissions, performance, application, etc. one of the posts talked about engine cooling at idle and another about tuning carb(s) and setting idle; both of which I was having issues. So, after...
hsorman, ya, you're likely right on the regulations. Like 70RR said, I too, built the car for street use. I don't race because DW doesn't want me too. Besides, at my age, my reaction time would probably be about... 3 days... :-)
thanks ptuner. dont want to jack 70RR's thread. there are a few more picts starting on page 8 of the build, but not many. http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?35850-64-330-Street-Hemi-build
It would seen to me that the engine would "buck" the starter if you had that much advance and it was accurate. If you truly feel every thing else is right and it runs with no detonation and it doesn't over heat and the exhaust doesn't smell like you're drinking a glass of NOX and it still...
Id start at the switch. unfortunately i dont have access to my shop manual right now but The switch is easy to reach without removal. Disconnect the wires and check the spades for continuity to ground then the wires to ground. It may be that you have a dead short in your wiper motor or a ground...
OK. At the risk of looking like a complete dumb-a$$, I found the problem with the gas gauge yesterday. I had the damn sending unit/pick-up in up-side-down!! Yes it can be done. Like I tell the guys at work; "We can F#*!-UP ANYTHING if we try hard enough". Here's the reason; the flange is...
