Well I don’t think Cass at Doctor Diff would send me the wrong seal in a prepared packaged kit.
He is probably one of the leading suppliers of 8 3/4 and Dana 60 parts. It just seemed like the seal wasn’t that tight of fit.
I have a 7290 yoke that is missing the seal shield off of it. My reason for concern is the new seal from Dr Diff doesn’t fit that tightly around the yoke. So I’m afraid to continue forward with rebuild without some feedback. Seems like that shield has kind of a sleeve on the shaft that might be...
Hey guys, I bought a empty 489 case to rebuild to replace my 741 (2.76).
This is my first ever rebuild of a center section. I bought everything from Cass at Doctor Diff. Sure-grip, 3.55s, the whole kit.
But my problem is I followed a instructional video on YouTube of how to rebuild one. Guy...
Man, what a bummer!
Now the Mopar Market is pretty much become you would be glad to give 3500 for ANY Mopar.
I bought my first Plymouth in Dallas off craigslist for 1800 bucks and drove it home.
I havent seen that car. Ive heard theres at least 3 chargers in Duncan. Theres a 68 in Marlow.
Haven’t really seen any Plymouths around Stephens county.
I’m hoping to make it this year. Have to check my work schedule. Thats about a 2 1/2 hour drive for me. Haven’t had my car on that long of a trip yet. My cars a rough rusty driver with 2.76s
You nailed it. It was Don.
He cut me some pretty good deals. There was still 2 more 440 blocks besides the one i bought.
Which Charger is yours? I might have seen you around town. Glad to know another Mopar guy around our area.
So you would rather have the stamped rockers, than adjustable iron rockers?
I cannot currently afford any of the big brand roller rockers. I figured anything adjustable is better than stamped.
No, not Phil. He’s still in business as far as I know.
Phil is in Duncan, the town to the south of me. The man I did business with was here in Marlow, where I live.
I was recently at a fellow Mopar lover’s shop here in Oklahoma who had retired and was selling off all the excess parts he had acquired over many years. He had finished his T5 ‘69 Super Bee and was selling his house, shop, and moving closer to grandkids.
I purchased a couple blocks, some LY...
Hey guys,
Im getting my big block 727 rebuilt. I was having problems with reverse lately and having severe cork gasket leak. I finally changed gasket and new fluid. Reverse has apparently burned up. Wont even try to go back, but 1-3 forwards gears seem good.
So with plans in the future of...
Okay so i dont necessarily need to upgrade to roller rockers, Just some new stamped would be okay. I figured i might as well replace them because i have no idea how many miles is on this motor when they swapped it.
I really dont wanna poke one thru.
Does the cam manufacturer usually say how...
So they’re generally all the same standard length, you just change rockers than can handle certain amounts of lift?
Or is there a certain amount of lift before you have to have shorter rods?
