This floor is in a historical 1860 home. Does anyone know the type of wood by looking at the pic. It does have the old square nails in many areas throughout the floor so I was additionally wondering how old it could be.
Thanks.
Another couple hours of metal detecting yesterday. One of the items we found is the attached pic.
It is metal and somewhat heavy for its size (cast iron I'm guessing).
Any thoughts.
Bought a metal detector a couple months ago to treasure hunt on an old farm.
Found this buried (about 6") at the base of an old tree. Maybe part of an old tractor.
It is heavy....cast iron. The scissors in the pictures is standard size.
Any thoughts.
Back in the early 80's I had a 1970 GTX (burnt orange). Installed a cassette tape player and immediately bought some cassettes. One of the them was Bon Jovi. The one song that put the "pedal to the metal" was Runaway.
To this day, when Runaway by Bon Jovi comes on..... I look both ways, make...
I drive by this house every morning and there has been a van sitting in the front yard for sale for about one weeks now. I call it the ghost house because it is very well kept (house and yard) and I never see anyone there.
The van is for sale. For some reason I am intrigued by it. Not for me...
I found this buried just below ground level. It is 13" tall and about 4" in diameter It is very heavy, I'm guessing close to 50 pounds. The weight caught me off guard. I'm wondering if it could be made of lead. Maybe cast iron. It's hollow all the way through. There are no markings on it...
I was bush hogging and found this stuck in the ground. Had to dig it out. It is about 2' wide and is rounded like a saucer. It's made of steel or possibly cast iron.
It was located about 50 yards from a historical home (circa 1860).
As you can see it has 5 holes (perfectly aligned) in the...
Anybody else have problems in the last two days with Comcast phone outage?
It's been a pain in the *** here in Nashville area.
I have read via Google it's been a problem nationwide. My wait time to talk to technical support at Comcast was 40 minutes. Goodbye.
Is this how China and Russia...
Planning a trip this June to Florida beach. Wife likes it so I set it up for her birthday. 7 hour drive....not bad.
We have done the VRBO for renting condo's before so I chose this route again. As usual, you give all info and payment info and the owner has 24 hours to accept.
Our rental was...
"You play a good game boy. But the game is finished. Now you die."
My brother came to visit me this weekend and we got to talking about this movie because of the black Cuda.
It was popular at the drive in movies when I was in my early 20's back in St. Louis and we must have seen it 3 or 4...
Need to buy a new work truck. The old one is tired. I want to do new right now because it looks like there are deals out there. Budget is 35K or less.
Looking at Dodge Ram and 1500 versus 2500. Prices better on 1500's but need something that can pull an enclosed trailer with car. It won't...
We are getting ready to put our house on the market (downsizing). We have oak hardwoods throughout the house. I put money into other things to prepare house but just don't have it in budget to do a sand and re-stain.
We have throw and larger carpets throughout but some areas that show look a...
I've been addicted to Seinfeld reruns for quite awhile. To me that is entertainment, especially the first 4-5 seasons.
The character that makes the show is Kramer. He does a fantastic job and the show would not be the same without him.
My question is do you think Jerry has taken care of him...
I had to buy prescription eye glasses and sunglasses about 4 years ago and was shocked at the cost. Insurance covered some but not a lot. Most of the coverage goes to the exam itself.
I'm in need of a new pair and went to the same eye doctor and he wrote me another script.
Has anyone bought...
First time I shopped around in a Hobby Lobby (yeah I don't get out much). Found these on the shelf and felt like a kid. Very cool.
Sorry for the glare on the pic. Laid them in the aisle and took it.
Range of price was $29.95 to $45.00. Can't do them anymore....hands shake to much.
I need to cut 2' x 2' section of sidewalk concrete that is about 2" deep. Need to get to a pipe underground.
I use a DeWalt grinder for cutting metal at work. It's the base unit grinder that takes 4" blades.
Has anyone used a grinder to cut concrete and if so what blade recommendation...
Friends of mine have a 1955 Dodge Royal (see pic) with a stripped down block (see pic).
Any help on what size V-8's came in these cars in 1955 and would there be any identifying marks on the block? If so, approximate location?
Thanks.
So I'm helping my son shop for a used truck. For what he can afford it will end up being about 15 years old with 150K plus miles on it.
Focus has been on Craigslist in our area. Definitely will be from Private Party. Since I haven't bought many cars this way before do sellers (Private Party)...
Always looking for a 67 GTX t-shirt because they are hard to come by.
Bought it on from a site called www.cargeektees.com.
What a waste of money. I always wash them first before I wear and the threads came apart out of dryer. And I think their definition of XL is more for the Asian part of...
