69 hemi charger 500

69 hemi charger 500 restoration.

About this Mopar:

View attachment 440947 This car was driven very little between 69 and 74 before it was parked with 10,262 miles on it. Between those years it was painted by Earl scheib T5 copper by the owner who didn't think T3 was very cool. Eventually the paint started to peel off. Imagine that! The owner at that time decided to sandblast the paint off so it could be repainted. Dumb ***! When he figured out what he had done he took the interior completely out including the dash, headliner, seats, door panel's ect. Also the engine, transmission, exhaust, emblems, wiring, ect.ect. all the parts sat in storage while the car sat outside. I acquired it in the mid 90's. It has since gone through a rotisserie restoration including the hole car being dipped repaired, re-dipped and dipped in primer. Now this is where we're at. Original matching numbers throughout.

Love this resto. Doing an excellent job! Question: On Hemi 500's, I'm guessing that disc brakes were still an option, and not standard?

Yes an option. This one is pretty basic. Go fast, straight and not stop. Manual brakes no power, manual steering, three on the tree, no console and bucket seats.

man, that's going to look so good with those skinny, redlines. Just like a Hotwheel !

WOW!!! That is as nice as it gets. Gonne be better than Ma Mopar built in 69. Your craftsmanship is second to none. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Great job on the car. There was one just like this on eBay last week. Is painting the negative battery cable a factory production fact on all Mopars? Nice touch to have if it is.

The negative battery cable was bolted to the engine Prior to painting from the factory on hemi engines. I'm not sure about the other mopars with 318, 383 or 440's?

Wow. I'm speechless. Very stunning. Great restoration, it's like a concours paint job. Truly 2nd to none. Congratulations. I bet it's smooth as a babies ***. I love the color too, screw the previous owner, and you gotta love the rumble of that Hemi. I'm sure you can proudly say you are the owner of that car my friend, it's worth a lot of dough if it's a real hemi. Great work, and keep the faith.
