    Blue 413, '62 Polara ???

Has anyone known of a factory installed "blue" 413 in a 1962 Polara 500, or Dart? I have some information on what engines came factory and special orders but I can't pinpoint if this combo ever took place. I also have heard of two with this combo but they had no documentation.

Don't get blue confused with turquoise.

The link below comes from the turbine car web site and shows the first turquoise 413 was in '64. Till then all 413s would have been painted orange and 383s turquoise. No blue engines till 1970.

A few years back there was a 62 Fury that crossed the B/J auction that had a 413 w/inline 2-4's (300-H motor) that was supposed to have been Galen Glovier certified. It also was a Turquoise color motor. Heck, in 62 Chrysler did all kinds of goofy motor combos with no records to back them up.

Yes I did mean turquoise, not blue. I have a '62-'63 413 out of a Chrysler. I was just wondering how correct this combo would be if I was to replace the original 361 with this engine. Just for fun if you know what I mean. There was many crazy combinations back then and that's what makes these mopars so unique. You could order almost anything anyway you wanted. Almost all of it was documented too! I have my "hunches" about this combo and I'm hoping for some documented proof. Thanks for your replies so far...

    Turquoise 413

In 1962 Chrysler alledgedly put 300-H motors in 50 Furys to do battle with the 409s and 406s. Galen Govier was supposed to have certified one at an auction. Maybe they put one in a dodge too. Ther are several cars floating around that Mother Mopar never built... Here is a link to the Fury might help in deciphering the Dodge.

Mopar did build some Darts in 62 with 413's and inline dual carbs. They were not Max Wedge cars and I have a Motor Trend article where they road tested one. Ron
