Remember The Old Mickey Thompson Headers??

Those were different than anything else and I remember them sounding AWESOME at idle.
They were equal length tubes into a collector about 36 inches long and each pipe terminated into the collecter at a different spot.
They were called Super Scavenger I think.

Would love to find a set of these for a 69 RR 440 car. Don't care how rusty.

I saw a set of those about 30 years ago - never seen another, good luck. I've heard from other people that they had a bitchin' sound. The collector was square-ish wasn't it?

    USA AFFORDABLE Scavenging collectors

Try these if you want a great sounding truly scavenging exhaust system, From $131 for 1-5/8" tubes - 2-1/4" tubes for $161 pairs Flowmasters, you can get them from either Jegs or Summit Racing too...

Google Mickey Thompson Super Scavenger Headers and listen to the big block Buick and the big block Chevelle sound. Unreal!!

I saw what I thought was a pair at a swap meet years ago, but wasn't sure. Neither was the seller. Looks like somebody wouldda found a pic by now. I know I've tried.

    Wow, I AM impressed.
YourStep Dad and you were with the Pioneers of Greatness. Those were the days!
I'm going to get "BEAT-UP" here but THAT Pontiac was not GM / Chevy.
Yup, I HAVE seen the Pontiac Hemi. As you stated, Mickey Thompson did run one.
    Those Superdutys were bad ass.
OK, Back to MOPARS before I get "keel-hauled"
    Anyone know what that is?

They were true equal length headers. The LONG collector allowed the ends of the primary pipes to be different lengths and this allowed all the primary pipes to be the same length. Like this.
