Mine are non-power drums on all 4 corners running 10.84 @124.....They work as they should but you definitely need to be paying attention and the only return road I know with this car is the last one. If I had to make a panic stop, I think I could make the first road but have never needed to. I think this car has a 10.50 in it and much faster than that and I'll need to upgrade the binders...

I was very surprised how well my power drum brakes work on my 63. On the street they stop very good for what they are as I had had to make a few fast stops and they have been ok. Course at the track I am only trapping 116 so its a bit easier for me to stop then you. And I was also surprised how well the power brakes work with the MP .557 cam I use but it has a good pedal. Ron

It seems that I had the fluid level on the high side of the safe zone and when it heated up it found its way to the vent... This was the logic I got from my tranny guy anyway who said to run it on the "ADD" line when it's warm and all should be well. Also found out that I now need a locking dipstick now that I am running 10's.

Are the King of the Krates Hemi's or Indy?

On The Tranny Put BOTH Solid Mounts On The Engine.I Have Had Lots Of People That Have Tried ONE Solid Only And The Engine Still Creates Twist. The Poly Rear Mount Is TOO Stiff...It's Almost As Stiff As A Solid Mount.
What Actually Happens With The Trans Is The Springs In The Front Drum Are Too Light And Not Enough Tension. Therefore The HULA Gasket(Piston Ring)Has Undue Stress And Heats Up And Breaks Down. There Are Mods I Do To Them That Take This Possibility Away.ALSO As You Mentioned At 10.99 And Faster You Have To Have A Locking Style Dipstick And Tube.I Had Lokar Make The 1st 727 Firewall Mount Dipstick For A 727.It Works Well And You Dont Have To Worry About The Bolt Where The Bracket Is To The Trans.
PM Me If You Would Like More Info On One Of My Trannys.

I know some Chebby fanatic with a rat motor has felt a little froggy or some goober with a crooked cap in a Nagasaki nut bucket has challenged your massive Mopar's to a duel on some desolate highway. Tell us your stories! I am Not a cop!

Wouldn't matter if you were a cop, takes more than a confession to get a conviction.

Anyway, here's a story about the old Lower River Road in Vancouver, WA in the late 1980's. Road was a dead end in undeveloped industrial area, with long straightaways. Races started at the dead end and ran back toward the first corner, with 1/4 mile marked in paint on the roadway. Cops ran radar around the first corner in the middle of the 2nd straightaway, and would write for 5 mph over the limit. But anything on the 1st straightaway was fair game, as long as you shut it down before reaching the corner.

I only went a couple of times, and no real racing happened until after midnight or 1 until the high school kids had to go home. Too much traffic in and out until then. Ran my other 72 Charger one night against a 72 Satellite with a 440. My car had a nearly stock rebuilt 383 from a 69 Charger. Only non-stock items were electronic ignition w/orange box and Holley 750 vacuum secondary carb. 383 got a good tune up that day. Raced the Satellite twice, switching lanes, same results each time. Beat him off the line and took a 1-2 car length lead, then held the lead about the same distance all the way down the track.

I know, not a fire-breather of a car, quarter mile times were about 15.1 with that set up, but it was a fun night. Not long afterward, I heard a drunk driver plowed into a bunch of people there to watch some races, and the police were forced to put a stop to it. Don't know the accuracy of that story, but I never went back.

OK then...... no street racing to speak of.... I have another question; How much gas mileage are you guys getting with these street pounders? My 440 powered 69 road runner with 727 TF and 3.55's is getting 11 mpg as long as I stay out of the Holley 850 double pumper and when I do call on it I need to be looking for a gas pump.

I am feeding 500" though. I think with more tuning the carb and timng I could get better. I plan on tuning it with my buddy's wideband LM-1 when I weld O2 bungs in.

I think I could do better too because I have my Holley running a little rich by design. I do not want even a hint of leaning it out with the NOS. Good luck and God Bless You!
