1969 GTX....The T stands for tetanus

Messed around with my door windows earlier. The quarter window seal moulding and vent window are held in the groove with window setting tape. A couple pics to show it. Worst part is cleaning the old stuff out. I wrapped the tape around the glass edge and set it into the groove with some strong hits on the carpet. Trim the excess with a razor blade.

More tinkering. I needed to set the vent windows and clean up the hardware. I cannot remember how I got the frames out but it looks like they go into the door complete.

And this little guy...looks like it needs repaired. It is the same on L and R but suppose to be a u shaped notch?

And here is the bottom frame adjuster that I repaired. Both were broke off...

R and L window assemblies waiting patiently for installation....window felt cannot get here soon enough!

I'm about to start on my window mechanisms also.

This car is going together easier than it came apart. I got my window felt in today so i started on the windows. The driver side door was messed up when I got it as the vent window frame was hitting the roof rail trim. No issues getting it back in and it aligns very well. On the front window track felt...I had to sand down the plastic guides as the entire thing was binding and flexing the frame. The new felt didn't help and was tight to begin with. The front and rear window align nice, just need to add my weatherstripping to be sure. If anyone wants a specific picture of an assembly let me know.

Have you patented the door edge guard yet? I will take 2 sets please :) Looking good!

I got my hood pins installed. The hood had the holes centered over the hood bumpers so I left that as it was. It is not correct but better than patching a hood. To get them to work, I cut down the pin and welded it to the hood bumper post and re-used the bumper.

I always liked hood pins. Do the cables damage the paint over time?
So have I and the existing holes were my excuse. I would say they probably will if they are flapping around at speed. I need to see about making them a little shorter or I may just get a clear vinyl to put on the leading edge of the hood.

Received the positive battery cable harness and quarter window seals. Kind of a pain to get installed as the short side gets tucked under the trim and is glued so it gets too sticky to tuck. I think it came out fine and mates well with yhe front windows.

It is. You need to send me a dime every time you use it.
Haha. Every time its used? So like text messaging with an american phone in europe? If some one bumps you it doesnt cost but if you bump someone its 10cents?

Yes, but I can sell you a use license for $10 a month and you can bump whomever you like, as much as you like!

I was 4-5 pages late on your post! You did terribly well on this rebuilt! keep us posting and keep up the good work :)

Allot of good tips on the windshield and windows thanks for that. Great advice when I'll be at this stage I'll surely take a look back at your post!

While it's easy to get to, could I get a close up picture of the 2 lower battery cable metal clamps. Thanks

And I finally received my weatherstripping from Metro. It is some nice and soft stuff. Driver side fit like a glove, quarter window is tight near the top of travel but I suspect it will break in. Roof rail tucked right in like it owned the place. On the front of the roof rail w.s., I used adhesive over the windshield moulding hold down.

man youre hauling. how about you push her out into the driveway with a few overall pics of how it looks. by my calculations, all thats left is finalize interior, motor/trans, all the lights and trim/bumpers, maybe some wiring? what are you doing for wheels and tires? mag 500s? maybe black steelies and chrome lug nuts (my favorite look) youre approaching that one year mark, still confident? also i dont mean to intrude, but if you care to share, this was the epitome of a budget build. you restored and reused almost every damn part you could, and did all of the labor. have you kept track of spending and hours? including initial purchase price, what do you think the total will be at the end? im just curious because theres guys who spend three times the purchase price on just buying new parts especially sheetmetal. but you did such a good job saving what you could, and creating your own little patches here and there. its the real definition of how much you save buy spending a little bit more to not be starting with a rust bucket,
