More new parts arrived. Engine will be done Monday-Tuesday. Hopefully, it will fire up next weekend. I think I finished most of the small part restoration and have everything needed to put this thing completely back together. Also ran across another cool mopar this week. It’s real.

As a detailing nerd, I'm stoked you were able to revive and keep the factory paint. That's so badass! Now keep it sealed, waxed, and protected so it lasts another four and a half decades.

I doubt this car from now on will ever see the weather it's probably seen in it's first decade and a half.

I also have a matching numbers V code 70 Charger R/T awaiting restoration. My car is a white automatic car that had a green interior and the same side stripes in green. While the engine is matching numbers on my car,the transmission is not,so a 4 speed conversion and a Dana 60 are going into the car. The previous owner had swapped out the green interior to all new burnt orange upholstry. I plan on doing the car in white and changing the green side stripes to orange to match the interior. I have been gathering up parts for the car for the last six years, and have most of what will be needed, including a pair of NOS rear quarter panels. I will be watching your thread for inspiration to get me going on the project. That is a sweet color combo on a really cool Sixpack Charger R/T!

Looks good, but why is the head pipe is in so many pieces....no one-piece H-pipe?

GSGN_RT, I'm really enjoying your write-up. I'm a little OCD so I really like the detail! I was 21 when I bought my GTX, but that was 47+ years ago. You are going to have some great stories to tell your kids and grandkids! Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words and sharing of stories! It keeps me motivated to keep going.

I am not sure why the H-pipe is separated. I just assumed that’s how TTI did them

Hard to believe, right!? Original owner car, he daily drove it for years.

Spent 5 hours prepping and painting last night. Stood up a makeshift spray booth to keep the overspray centralized.

Dropping it back in the car Sunday. The last time this 440 was in the charger was sometime in the 80s.
