I am attempting to find what would be the dimensions of an assembly line bolt that was used to hold the bumper to the bumper bracket. In particular, it would be nice to have an answer to the following questions:
1. Is the face of the bumper bolt relatively flat or does it have more a pronounced radius to it?
2. What is the approximate diameter of the "face" of the bolt?
3. What is the overall length of the threaded portion of the bolt?
Through the years, cars have been repaired or restored and so it would be nice to know the dimensions of an original bumper bolt. That way, from the various options that are available, I can possibly find a more correct bumper bolt to offer to our customers and vendors.
I can source some NOS hardware, but often times, the NOS hardware was super ceded pieces that do not truly reflect the assembly line hardware. Thus the question on what are you finding on original untouched cars.
@33 IMP , I am not aware of the bumper bolts being different between the front and back for the bolts that attach the bumper to the brackets. It they are different, that would be great information to know. I much more familiar with the 68 and 69 B-Bodies and know that hardware for the brackets are different from front to rear, but the bumper bolts are all the same.
@Dodge33, let me know what you find.
Again, thanks for all of the input.
