Hey all, there is a local Craig's list ad for a 5.7/ 6 speed pullout. So how hard would the full swap be fitment wise? Would I be better off using just the motor and hooking it up my sb 727...thanks.
There are TONS of threads on this and I know very little about the swap, but I've heard that the A727 transmission is much easier to use (but no overdrive)
The 727 will require no trans tunnel or cross member modifications. I think you will only need an adapter plate to install it. The problem is that will the 727 the engine will wind out quick and you will lose the top end if you plan on driving the car a lot. If it will be a trailer queen then go for the 727 it will be the cheapest option to use. I would make sure all the sensors for the 6spd are with it though. You may need to pick n pull it for some of the small parts? Any of the sites can help you . Hotwire, performance parts or give Randy a call at Bouchillon Performance. he can build you a parts list that will give you every part you need. Gas tank, exhaust, motor mounts.... all in one package.
