Hello guys, so it's been three years since I got my 1969 Roadrunner 383 4 speed, and 1 year since I started the resto... So I guess it is time for me to start a thread of my resto process!
A lot of pics are coming!

Just a quick info, the car was a total mess when we start digging into it. The previews owner have changed the quarters and trunk floor but in the way that is absolutely not right at all! New panel were welded on the old ones --' some expended foam were added to feel up the holes etc etc.

so the first shot will be the disassembling process

Good catch pulling the car to pieces. Looks like a death trap if you had driven the car hard enough. Keep it up and you'll be seeing results soon enough.

Car returning from the sand blasting and new holes on the front rails frame

Lets see some body work on the different element panel etc, we had a lot to do on this part, turned out pretty good I guess.

100_5056.jpg 100_5060.jpg 100_5062.jpg 100_5063.jpg 100_5071.jpg 100_5074.jpg 100_5076.jpg 100_5077.jpg 100_5078.jpg 100_5081.jpg

A lot of cutting, forming new sheet of metal, all the holes you see here and there, where feel up with mastic!!!!

100_5095.jpg 100_5097.jpg 100_5098.jpg 100_5099.jpg 100_5100.jpg 100_5101.jpg 100_5103.jpg 100_5106.jpg 100_5109.jpg 100_5111.jpg

Then we started the straitening process, might be scary but I can assure that there is not a lot of mastic on the panels. Not even 1/25 of an inches! ^^ just thin coats were applied, this have been a real long step, about two or three weeks of sand new application then sanding again and again...

100_5114.jpg 100_5115.jpg 100_5116.jpg 100_5119.jpg 100_5120.jpg 100_5129.jpg 100_5130.jpg 100_5131.jpg 100_5137.jpg 100_5139.jpg

Then we epoxy primed the body, and the different elements. Also done some repairs on the front pillar (passenger side) it was a kind of rusty.

100_5151.jpg 100_5153.jpg 100_5154.jpg 100_5161.jpg 100_5163.jpg 100_5179.jpg 100_5180.jpg 100_5181.jpg 100_5182.jpg 100_5184.jpg

We remove the trunk floor, and we discovered that the ones that put this trunk floor in the car, cuts the frame rail with there machine, when they remove the original trunk floor. So first of all, we welded back the cuts in the frame, then sand he inside of the frame, applied a rust stop then a sort of primer that we applied with a paintbrush, and finally start working with the AMD trunk floor

Also we made a shipment from USA with a container full of ne parts, and only AMD for the body. So there is full quarters both side, trunk floor, outer wheel house both side, front right fender, the parts where the rear bumper is fixed (forgot the name of this one sorry), the Dutchman panel and I guess that's it.

And some chassis parts also.

So installed the trunk floor, then started the wheel house

100_5223.jpg 100_5226.jpg 100_5227.jpg 100_5284.jpg 100_5296.jpg 100_5298.jpg 100_5299.jpg 100_5300.jpg 100_5302.jpg 100_5305.jpg

We removed the quarters, finish the trunk floor and wheel house, everything has been seamed, and primed

100_5309.jpg 100_5310.jpg 100_5326.jpg 100_5328.jpg 100_5329.jpg 100_5331.jpg 100_5333.jpg 100_5338.jpg 100_5294.jpg

oups forgot a step, before removing the quarters completely, we did some fitting tests, and aligned the front fenders with doors, and then doors with old quarters. Thus we had a guide to adjust the new AMD quarters.

Then during summer 2016, I did some interior parts and the front grill and headlight bezels. Only have the front grill and headlight bezels in epoxy, but then I painted those with flat black.
The trim shine just like new right now after a lot of elbow grease.

100_5229.jpg 100_5230.jpg 100_5231.jpg 100_5259.jpg 100_5270.jpg 100_5273.jpg 100_5277.jpg 100_5278.jpg 100_5280.jpg 100_5285.jpg

Right now the rear end is finished, everything is weld, the Dutchman panel has been replaced, the gutters are in, etc etc. Have been through a lot of grinding! that is a messy part to pass, but no choice but doing it so we did. And now we are working on the floors. Will post some other pics asap

Thanks for watching, hope that is not to much in once ^^
