Don selleck's 68 charger rt project

Yea, I just recently found out about them from 69 gtx, but here's some pics to explain, borrowed from moparnation74's awsome thread. Not sure where he got them. Good insurance to keep the warping from possibly happening like mine did. Hoping adding some will fix my warp/s or at least reduce them. The warp/s are not noticeable to anyone but me but I know they're there so it's one of those things that bug the crap out of you till you at least make it better.

that's a good question, maybe Justin can enlighten us on those items, they do make sense. with your metal skills Don, you should be able to fab up a couple for both of us in no time.

Where would I find these plates?
MN3118 32.99 a pair

but classic industries are on back order, so hard telling when they will be available.

well been slowly at it taking my time whittling with the after market parts bought an after market valence parking light didn't quite line up had to do a little adjustment to the light housing, seems that the recessed bolt holes were stamped too deep which pushed the light out of center. Glad I didn't have to f up the paint. live and learn check every part for fitment into aftermarket.

had the painters paint guy match the original dash frame paint off a piece of trim that was above the windshield on the inside, was the same color as the dash. was too shinny on first batch, then too black, then a little too gray on the third try decided to use it any way the sheen looked good, now its in I'm not so sure, what do ya all think?

Looks beautiful to me. Mine is a little too shiny but so be it.
Painter said he dulled the paint, not enough tho.

I think the dash looks great! Entire car looks fansastic, color is perfect!!

I like the gray tone om the dash! Hmm maybe I should do that as well, it would match my two-tone Challenger-interior:rolleyes:

I ended up putting this stuff called 303, its a applied protectant you let dry like wax then buff off was designed for use on the space shuttle for a protectant of some kind used this on my rims and plastic on my other car worked good helps keep dust and dirt from sticking, but anyway seemed to darken it a little, hard to tell in pics so I didn't upload the but heres a few more accomplishments while waiting for a few odds and end parts, good news, just got an alert classic industries just charged my card, door handle backers

are being shipped along with a few other back ordered stuff, gotta say they are kinda pricey but all the parts available, couldn't have been this far without them.

Dk and Don,

I got those plates from Mega Parts! They are worth every penny and will eliminate the warp/usage issues...

DAMN, that silver charger looks nice.....Don coming along very nicely!

Wow, that's a great color and finish! Beautiful.

have some updates but, just wrapped up several large projects at work and will have some serious time to put into it. got the side windows in and completed all surround stainless has had the dents removed and polished, quite a process and amazing what can be done with the stainless. planning on getting brakes wrapped up again,(switched to wildwood 4 piston caliper 4 wheel disc). was putting the 71 stock disc set up with this part and that part filed here so the pads would fit right and finding crush clips that are a fortune for what they are. wasn't really confident in the system with all the money that's riding behind them. wilwoods are nicely engineered and seem to be a very good product. pads can be removed without taking the caliper off one cotter pin and they pop out same pads for front and rear, got the parking brake kit, it is a drum inside the rotor and comes with cables that are longer so this might be helpful to fab a new location for the cable, so i don't have to cut a hole through my frame connector to access the original rear frame mount. So that helps with what they cost if i can solve a few issues with them, plus starting an American auto wire full harness kit. dropped my steering column in to check fitment with the borgeson power steering. plus picked up a vacuum pump and an adjustable vacuum switch to keep it from running all the time. test fit grill all seems to be good, removing it when i get brakes done, so i can black out the wheel wells, behind

That color is sooo cool! It's looks like a jet, or a spacecraft, kinda like polished aluminum. Makes me wish I'd painted mine silver. Sweet brakes alsoo..
