Getting ready to paint a 67 charger. Want to remove the chrome trim on top of the fenders and other trim so that I get a good paint job. Any ideas? all answers are appreciated. Also looking for a tail light lens I think its the center section.

It will pry off, I was successful and did not "ruin" any pieces buy using a very short 90 degree piece of stiff super thin steel that I angled under and pulled ever so slighty out while using very wide scraper type tool levering upwards. Not sure if safest or best way, but did work well......Also,I do have center section, if interested will take a pic...........Will be in shop tomorrow, so let me know today if you get on this site. HONEYSUCKLE 017.jpg long ways to go :-O

Pictures are worth a thousands words so I went out and took some for you.
Here's one that I plan on removing the seam and welding it up.
If you are asking how to get it off, very carefully if you are planning to reinstall it.
They didn't plan to take it off. There is a screw under the front I think.

Depending on if it is a 66 or 67, the front trim is different. And I have seen a couple clips differences between the two years, otherwise it is all the same. 67 had the fender tip indicators, 66 did not. Those indicators come off with a screw in the very front and then a nut underneath in the back (pic). 66 was just trim.
Otherwise I suggest if you don't have a proper tool a piece of smooth plastic. This sounds crazy but I use an orange peeler. It is plastic with a rounded point and sort of curved to get under the peel skin. Works great on the trim to get underneath and pry up.
Now contrary to the pictures shown, there "should" be a stud and a nut on the end(s) of the fender trim and both ends of the door trim. Otherwise the clips should be the same.
The rear is another animal ... different clips but again they just pry off. Depending on how long they have been on there they may be stubborn but they just grip the 2 pieces of metal that come together and stick up where the quarter is joined with the roof.
Here are more pics for reference.FenderTips.jpgdoormldg66.jpgClip50.jpg

Oh, it's a stud on the end of the front fender?
Been so long since I took it off, I forgot.
But that sounds right. I just know there was the small hole in front of the big hole which is the turn indicator.

Hi, do you need the "R" section of the tailight, i have one, but it's 48 years old!!!!! LOL

I need the part of the tailight that has C H A on it. Also need to see how to get the Charger name off of the side of the C pillar. thanks for your help

Also need the chrome strip that goes on top of the right rear fender the one I have is bent up. Thanks again guys you have been a big help to me

Those pieces that hold rear trim on fender are outrageously high dollar complete pkg 75$ I only need about 5 so am shopping for singles, hope there are some at Mopar Nats in Columbus in a few weeks

Interior sail panel must be off to access the small fasteners holding the name plate and the rectangler emblem on.

i got some of the pieces your looking for, for that long trim piece on the rear quarter. how many do you need exactly?

If you mean the little clips, I have some stashed as well. Let me know.

Ok call me crazy but just this summer I put ordered a kit that had all the peak moulding clips and the plastic clips for a 67 charger I did the stainless on. Now it's back from paint and of course I can't find anyone selling this "kit" more importantly I need the plastic clips that go under the door and fender trim that have the plastic pop on river type middle. Need them for both sides asap. Anyone?
