Decided to take advantage of our freedoms on this wonderful Veterans Day and go back in time one hundred years.
If you haven't been to Strasburg Railroad and the Strasburg Railroad Museum in Lancaster Pa. it's worth the trip. Went with my friend and her five year old grandson. You might say we've moved up from the yearly train gardens!

A short intro to the video, The train hooks to the rear of the cars, then pulls them to the end of the line where it unhooks from the rear, moves to the front for the trip back. It's a 45 min round trip through Amish country. The cars were heated so the high twenty deg temps weren't noticed.
The Museum is across the street from the train ride and is packed full of some cool trains, exhibits, and lots of history.

Finished out the day visiting a favorite diner in that area, Rt.30 Diner, about five miles from Strasburg. They're very patriotic and serve more than you can eat for a very generous price.

Met quite a few Veterans today and of course showed our appreciation. Even the gal taking orders in our train car was a vet!
