Took the backrest out in the back seat & low & behold there it was! Man was it a bitch to remove the backrest as the lower left hand side tab was bent over locking that corner in not to mention how excited I was to actually find it as it's a crap shoot if you'll find it or if you do will it be the one for your car.

Destroyed my back in the process so popped 2 Aleve. Now need to spend some time decoding it but if anyone has a master guide to these codes I'd greatly appreciate it.

Found another inspection tag dated 1-12-68 #2858275. The other one I found was on the back seat bottom 1-8-67 #2858870.
Also found a chalk mark number & remembered that when I was cleaning out under the back seat there were some chalk chips in there.

What's the square panel for?

that sheet is in far better shape than mine was 30 years ago........ did you need the pry bar?

Thats is a perfect buildheet! They never look like that....Awesome find and congrats!

Those seat tags are the factory tags with dates when they were put together....

The Square bracket is for the driver side exhaust pipe hanger for dual exhaust.

Thanks! My back was the pry bar, had to take a long hot shower + 2 Aleve after the whole affair. Later tonight will be using a therma-care heat wrap....Don't get old, it's bad for your health, LOL!

Nice find. Congrats. Makes me want to go searching in the 70 Satty ragtop I just picked up !!!

nice score !!! I thought i found mine but it turns out my rear seat belonged to a 67 coronet 440 4 door. Talk about a bummer.

Congrats! That thing is in excellent condition! So far I haven't found one in my Satellite. I've checked all of the seats and no luck. Still hoping I find one, but not real optimistic.

Nice find! Not too many cars out there that people didn't already find.

Congrats on a great find - and one that's in excellent shape to boot. I found mine a few years back after owning the car for over 40 years. They're nice to have.

Cool. Put it in a plastic page protector and stash it in a safe place.

Yep. That's the plan. I'll print out a color copy & keep the original in one as well as a safe place. I can't believe I found it!

Nice find, and extremely well preserved. Take a high resolution scan of it also to file in your computer.

Thanks everyone! Anyone have a master guide to these codes as I'd greatly appreciate it.
