Correct oil pickup and oil pan

Thanks to outlaw525 (Amazing guy). I installed the correct oil pickup and oil pan tonight. While cleaning and inspecting I noticed some damage to bottom of the block. I can't see any evidence on the connecting rods. Is this just a defect? Once again I am amazed at the support and advice yall give. This is what I have needed for years.

Did something happen with the internals before you got the car maybe? Not sure if that would be an area that will leak in the future or not.
