Does anyone out there have any experience with or knowledge of Smoky Mountain Traders out of Tennessee? They have a car I am interested in but I am clear out in Seattle, WA. Before I spend the money on a plane ticket was hoping to see what kind or reputation they have in regards to selling muscle cars.

Sorry not me...

Welcome to FBBO from NorCal

you can do a search with the BBB, see if they have any negative claims
or reviews of their dealership, Google search comments etc.

good luck

Welcome. Perhaps there is a member near the car who can take a look for you.

is this the car ?

have a 5 star rating with BBB but there are a few bad reviews on the net ,saying that they seem to be a chev specialist (1st gen Camaro's are their thing )
they have ****-hot models with the cars, a definite distraction

I'll take one of each ........ no not the cars - the models.

Welcome to FBBO. We have a lot of members from TN so someone should be able to take a look at it for you.....

Brand new to this whole forum thing, never even entered my mind that there may be a member nearby who could look at it. The guy from the dealer did a FaceTime video with me this morning to show me any flaws that he could find. Seems like a stand up guy who was not trying to hide anything. Quite the opposite actually, he seemed to try and show me anything he thought I might be concerned with before I fly out.

Post a thread for "Anyone live near the town where the car is" Then in the body of the note describe what you'd like done. Most who live nearby will check it out for free. I've done it before and plenty of other members have as well. Try it out.

Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated.

That's a plus. BUT, let's remember regardless of make, year, or model this is still a used car salesman. If you've met one you've met them all.

Well I must say they do have some killer models out there and I would fly out there just for them but the cars are worth the trip to0

That car seems nice. There are some red flags: incorrect radiator and painted exhaust and undercarriage.

You can pay an inspection service to check it out thoroughly for less than it will cost you to go do it yourself. For that much money, hire the expert unless you are one.

That is why I am flying out, just to make sure there are no surprises.
Yeah buying sight unseen has about a 2% success rate. Tennessee is a lovely place though. This will be like a mini vacation.
Keep us informed and supplied with pictures. 68&9 Coronet R/Ts are my favorite Mopars. Hope you come home with her and let us all drool over her.

To me those models are just a distraction. The car is the real beauty.
