Best of wishes to the Glidden Family. Bob drove the Baddest Plymouth arrow on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was a bad *** in pro-stock PERIOD,
not only in the Arrow, my favorite too...

IIRC he won 14 National events in one season
{1978 (?) IIRC, but it was the legendary Fairmont Motorcraft Boss}
When I 1st began racing, he was like a god,
the nicest guy to talk too, but not to race against...

Absolutely one of the greats of Pro Stock,as mentioned, when it was worth watching. An icon of the sport who left his mark. R.I.P.

This one really makes me sad.
He is the one that got me "involved."
RIP Bob Glidden.
I took this picture at Englishtown probably around 1981.

he had a dry spell between 81-84 he was #2 twice & #6 once IIRC

RIP.... man I hated that Probe and the Thunderchicken he campaigned in the 80s...but those were bad to the bone cars and he was money....

RIP Bob...
My favorite video of him was this crash in '86. He gets out unscathed and after all that he thinks to put his fire jacket across the intake manifold so no-one could see it... A True Drag Racer gone.

Saw him in 1978 at Seattle International Raceway, my dad took me at 13yo - stood tall in the bleachers as the sun was setting to see him win. He will be missed.

I forgot all about the manifold drama...brings back some memories..

RIP Bob. He was a class act. He actually took the time at the Woodburn Pro Stock Invitational years ago to stop and talk to me in the staging lanes about running my 4 speed car.
