I want to run 275/60-15 tires on rear of my 73 RR, what size wheel do I need with what backspace to accomplish this

Yup, I’m running 15x7 with 4.5” bs on my 67. Damn narrow wheel wells

They will also fit fine on the stock 15x7 rallye. Most tire companies has a recommended wheel size chart fro the tire size. A 275 will fit a 7" wheel. As for backspacing, the 73 is the same as 71 for wheel wells and the stock rally offset looks nice as do the widened rallye with the 4.5 backspacing.

Should look like that,15X8

I have run 275/60R15's on the back of my 73 Road Runner for years. My recommendation is to use 15x8 rims with a 4.5" backspace (as other's have said above). These work great, look great (in my opinion) and have zero issues with rubbing.

Not a great shot, but hopefully you can get the idea.

I have 255 on 15x8 with 4.5 backspace on the rear, 235 on the front.

I ran 275 60 15s on 15x8s with 4" backspacing, no issues. I now run 295 65 15s on the same size wheels, just had to put a little air in the rear shocks. Trying to sell my satin black 15x7 and 15x8 police wheels if interested, the 275 60 15 tires still have a few seasons left, the 245s on the 15x7s are shot though.
