Yankee Express RestoMod Project

Those are the headlight cases standing on end. I'd rather be cold than hot. Can always put more cloths on, but once yer naked that's it.

Finally got the 1 1/8th holes stamped in my 4 pieces of 1/8th steel so I could make the new hangers for the relocated rear shackles. Welded them up and cut the frames. Slide them up on and welded them in place. A little more grinding and some epoxy primer then they are done....onward...

Finally broke out the new paint gun today. Took the gallon of Eastwood epoxy primer down to the paint store and had them shake it up for me. Picked up some filters and stir sticks. Mixed 1;1 Part A to part B , how much simpler could it be? Had to refill the spray cup 4 times though. So now it's all one color. black primer. lol. The gun is an Eastwood contour gun and worked very well. Easy to clean and easy to adjust. I found out though that when I put the final paint color on I need to clear every damn thing out of the garage first so I have room to move. lol.

It's "murdered out"! I like it!
Yeah, I picked black on purpose. It will give me an idea what the end stage will look like with a dark color. Also every bump and ding stands out better so I can get 'er straight! I have not done the roof or the inside because they need no bodywork and I can hit them as a last thing after all else is complete. Onward to the leaf springs!!!

Your doing it right, can't wait to see color on it.

We all have more time than money, but if ya hit the lottery, spare no expense! Lol!

One spring down, one to go...get them both cleaned up and then I can epoxy prime them and chassis black. Going on the web now to look for new pads and clamps.

What do you need, I have both leaf assemblies I took off my 67 sitting on the shelf in not going to use
The plastic pads 4 on each spring and the 4 buckles that hold the end leafs together in the pack with those rectangular pads under each one. I guess I need new eyes too w/ the rubber bushings for the big ends.

Got both spring packs cleaned up and primered 4 leafs. ran out of zeal after that.....hands are tired. I have plenty of the Eastwood 2 part epoxy black primer and a quart of Extreme Duty Chassis Black that can be sprayed w/ gun or brushed on. I'm going to primer all of the bits and wait until I have everything that I want to spray with the Extreme paint and do it all at once. I still have all of the steering linkage stuff to clean up, the shock pads for the rear, the K frame, LCA's, disc spindles, strut rods, trans mount, motor mounts, and bumper mounts to clean up and prime. Wheewwww....
