I have a z bar repair kit. The seal says ball side. Does it mean this side goes to the ball first or when done it points in the direction of the ball? One side of the seal also has a step.

The seal is on the ball already. Just making sure it doesn't have to be flippe 180 deg. So when done I should not be able to read the words ball side.

Here ya go bee..

Moparnation74... See how mine has that smaller lip towards the bottom? I don't see that in your pic. From the bottom drawing, it looks like the small ring goes on the ball first.

Would think the small ring goes into the z bar first to facilitate assembly.

Oh boy, I'm right back to where I started.

The plastic collar mates flush with the larger ring, that's the correct way and to provide adequate sealing...

That makes sense to me. That's the way its going.

Thanks Moparnation74... That's the way I'm putting it in. Of coarse I could have always called Brewers tomorrow but isn't that the way it works. You finally get time off to work on your project cause of a holiday and everyone else is off too.

No problem, glad I could help a friend...been there many times myself with typically something small like this holding things up a bit.....
