Here we go again.
Why does the US want to be so reliant on others oil. We have more than all combined, right under our own soil in the Dakotas , Montana, etc.
I think the US government likes when we suffer and struggle.
If we'd stop worrying about all the world's problems and bailing them out for once and take care of their own, maybe the US could get out of this downward spiral.
I really need an explanation.
We are heading for a revolution right here in good ol' USA.

I know what you mean. Really makes me mad that we care to much about other countries...

I know what you're saying and I don't totally disagree with you, but a friend put it to me this way: The world is like a neighborhood and certain countries/leaders are bullies. Someone has to stand up to them for the sake of the neighborhood. We're the richest, strongest, etc. nation in the world. Alot of countries look to us to keep peace. Again, I don't agree we should be running every time someone cries, but we've got to keep allies and sometimes that means fighting friends of friends battles. By the way, I, for one, am for drilling.

BUT.....We are not the richest by any means. China, Saudia Arabia,to name a few blow us away. We are in such financial disaray in the USA. We owe Trillions.
If we just did like Switzerland, Canada, Israel for awhile just so we could just catch our breathe and get out of this crisis. Its not fair to the citizens of the USA who are struggling so hard just to eat and stay warm.
Its all a political ploy to keep us buying this bullshit oil from the other parts of the world. We have trillions of barrels beneath us.

you hit the nail right on the head chris! it's all bull sh#t!!

What gets me is the price oil goes up $6 or $7 dollars a barrel, over night the price of gas goes up, now we all now the gas in the tanks at the gas station is already paid for, the oil reserves are in place and paid for at the lower price.

So why does the price we pay for fuel oil & gas go up the next day?

What we need to do as a country of consumers is boycott a gas company.......say Mobil Oil, no one buys Mobil gas , we all buy any other brand but Mobil ( of course we know we need gas & can't boycott all gas)
After one month of not buying Mobil gas.... there price would have to come down just to get us back to there pumps.

People have said just don't drive for a day......problem with that is its not practical (we need to go to work, school, doctors etc...)

Then when Mobil drops there price we boycot Hess and so on .....We as a country need to make a stand, I better watch what I say......There's gonna be a knock at my door LOL

We are so much in a hole its not even funny. pretty sad how quick we just to aid others even though we are in such a shitty condition our selves. i dont even want to get started with oil, holy **** ! we are relying on these ******** who could give 2 shits about us, they dont even like us and yet we pretty much finance their entire country. " look at those guys burning our flags...shhhhh, 100K barrells please " . friggin BS !

Yup, my fix would be cut all foreign aid, especially to Israel, bring all US troops home, put 'em on the Mexican border. The budget would be in surplus in just a few months time. Drill and get that oil out of the Dakota's, put some money back in Space exploration, go back to the Moon, then Mars. Take care of our own house folks. Gas at $1.00 a gallon, 95 octane all day every day as regular, and 98 for premium. We build stuff again, slap China with 25% import Tariff, yeah, and we would be back building stuff again!!!

You can thank all of the iceholes that voted for Osama and his gang of socialist thieves!
Not that that weasel McCain would have been any better economically, but at least he was not out to destroy America like this Communist bastard is!

they both sucked .... pretty sad when we have to pick one of the lesser evils to run our country ...

It's not the office of the President, heck, any boob can be there, there's other powers that tell the President what to do, and, if he doesn't play ball, they show him the Zapruder film.

I'd have to say to agree with alot, not all, but alot of what everyone has said. But, this isn't the Middle Ages. We rely on the global economy as much as the rest of the world relies on us to keep afloat. It's hard to slap a tariff on China when we owe them Billions. And, there are alot more countries that I would cut aid to before Isreal. Really, how much money have we given to Yemen, Palestine, and I could go on, that have terrorist training camps hidden away by a government walking a fence.

woser; about 30 to 40% of the oil we extract we sell, mostly to the states. which is our neighbor and i agree with that. what i don't agree with is that i am paying over $5.00 a gallon for my low test gas and deisel, u.s. gallon measurement and you sre paying a lot less. ours is all tax's and tax's on tax's for them to give a billion here for floods, a billion there for a quake, etc, etc.
BUT all in all we both live in pretty darn good countries compared to most people.

That's a good way of putting it.

Agree, you should not be expected to be the world's police force but sometimes you have no choice. The fight might be the other side of the world but you gotta get involved.

Australia has 70% of the worlds uranium, the largest muslim country in the world is just a couple of hundred miles to the north, I'm sure you can recognise the need to ensure that that yellow stuff remains in safe and friendly, hands!

I'm all for sucking all the oil out of the middle-east that we can, suck that region dry, let them have thier solid gold cars and 100' yachts.....because one day that oil will run out and we'll have it all, then we can do whatever we like to the middle-east! :)

Why aren't we on nat gas yet? Actually, oil is higher if you look at ICE Brent. That 100 dollar stuff is for WTI (West Texas Intermediate) and is not really the price to go by these days....

According to BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy (pdf), released on wednesday, we still have 1,333 million barrels out there to pump, enough for 40 years at current usage.
By that time well prob all be on electric cars we'd hope except recreational hopfully
but seriously its going to get alot more violent over there once everything has dried up...

I don't believe the price of oil has a whole lot to do with what the middle east does. Most of our oil comes from Canada and the Gulf. I know here in Utah we get our oil from the Gulf and yet when **** happens in the middle east our oil goes up. It's all market speculation and our friends in Wall Street that drive these prices up.

Also I for one wouldn't want to cut foreign aid. Do you know how many Americans we would put out of a job if we did that. For one ME! :)
